Apparently some people are.

Well, I understand that those events are happening. But I hope we would learn from the aftermath of the Indira Gandhi assassination. Back in 1984, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards. This eventually resulted in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, which you may probably seen in the movie "Slumdog Millionaire". Still, did that solve the problem? Did that bring back the life of Ms. Gandhi? It did nothing more than to promote hate towards others.

I hope something like this would not happen.

The government has already sent an apology. I'm not sure if it also reached there, but the family of the hostage-taker has also apologized for what their relative did:

On behalf of our family and of my brother, I am apologizing to the Hong Kong government and to the affected families and their children to forgive us for what happened.

We are suffering just like you, so again we are apologizing for what my brother did.

I wouldn't use that term, but I admit that I was disappointed in President Aquino because of the smiles he made during the press release and the inspection of the crime scene. Even if he did it to apparently relieve the stress brought about by the situation, I am upset that he acted as such.

And I believe there are pictures circulating around the Net about how some of our fellow Filipinos behaved at the crime scene. For that, I also apologize in behalf of every Filipino.

Lastly, I'm thankful to Jackie Chan for understanding the situation with an open mind.

I agree. We even discussed this issue in social studies this morning! Some of us don't even think President Aquino was watching at all! If he was, there would've been some military guys out there. Seriously, what were the adults in the Philippines thinking when they let this guy win the elections? All he's doing is ruining his family's name.

Also, one of the media guys was a complete idiot *cough*Mike Enriquez *cough*. He practically told the hostage taker where the police were positioned! Ugh! That, and the police really have to train a lot harder.

...Man, I kinda hope the president sees this and makes changes.

I saw something horrible in the newspapers.

They're investigating the scene, the police... but what do I see in the papers? Three policewomen, grinning like they won the lottery and taking pictures.... in front of the bus.

Seriously, do they even have any sympathy at all? >:(

Actually, it's because of this incident that my classmates have come up of two new meanings for the acronym SWAT:

1) Sorry, wala akong training

Translation: Sorry, I didn't recieve any training (for this occassion).

and during the time they were trying to break in the bus then they heard the gunshots:

2) Sugod!! Wait, atras, takbo!!!!!!!!!

Translation: Charge!!! Wait, go back, RUN!!!!!

Ah...the twisted minds of my fellow juniors...

I saw that, and for that I apologize in behalf of every Filipino for these types of pictures.

LATE. Anyway.

This. (Although I wouldn't exactly word it like that. :P)

I did not expect for the news to reach dctp. And LOL, the whole day I was at school without knowing there was some serious hostage-taking happening a couple of blocks away. You wouldn't know how puzzled I was after seeing lots of policemen in front of the school building the next day.
