Oh, good. A chance to show my rusty skills. It's late, though, so I'll have to wait until after sleep.

Fun-fact: Jd- once beat a math prodigy at chess very handily. I expected to lose by a large margin, but I actually had to bring down the hammer on him.

Additional Fun-fact: I'm terrible at math.

Fun-fact in addendum: Chess is about fooling your opponent.

Cool, congrats!

Although many of the skills needed to be good at chess are the same needed to be good at math, one doesn't necessarily mean the other.  Also, it sounds like you were much better than you gave yourself credit for, Jd-.  :)

Not a big fan of playing chess via PC cause I'm having a hard time looking at my and my opponent's chess pieces.

Anyone here who have played chess using human-sized chess pieces? I want to try playing it. My brothers told me that they have that at a nearby mall...

They have that at SM City Manila. Lower Ground Floor Tech-something center... on the far end side (away from the city hall)... I always see that when I buy stuff there every time I get home from work. Sometimes I watch, but I it gets hard standing for too long when your not with anyone.

-Philippines FYI

They also have that in SM San Lazaro... Maybe all of the SM branch have one...

Hey!
Don't start without me!
...
I onced played at Schach.de, but my serial expired (if you have got the chess program Fritz, you get one serial for free) and I don't like playing this way anyway...
But I play Go at KGS!

But we can also play chess over this topic, using the notation...
For example 1. d2-d4.

Phew...
I haven't calculated any chess rating in years... But once on Schach.de I had an ELO of 1550 in fast games (~15:00).

I have an account at Chesscube.com now. Callid, of course.

Do you have to play realtime at Chesscube, or can you play a turn-based game over several days?
