I was gonna say muzak, but I don't think that's quite it :x
EDIT: isn't that just called a piano bar/lounge? So it's piano music

Re: Question about Music
That's the best answer I could give. It's obviously jazzy, and some parts lean more towards cool jazz (another part leaned more to the poppy side too), so beyond calling it a "background piano music" I don't think there's more to it genre wise.Jecka wrote: EDIT: isn't that just called a piano bar/lounge? Re: Question about Music
It's the same for early Detective Conan soundtrack (and a lot of the Sailor Moon soundtrack) - it sounds jazzy, but they don't really fit into any specific Jazz style.Conan324 wrote:It definitely feels jazzy, but when i hear actual jazz piano music, it makes me think that there's probably a sub genre in jazz for this type of music.
I'm probably not the best person to ask, since my field of studies never focused on composition. I did begin to compose stuff in my last semester, though, so I think studying music does help. Learning stuff like harmony, counterpoint, arranging, etc. definitely helps me when I try to write stuff, but also participating in ensembles helps me.Conan324 wrote: And kor, i've been meaning to ask you, Since your studying music, do you feel you have become better at composing since you started your studies? im asking because i want to see if Composition skills can be learned.
As far as learning specific composition skills, there was a composition major in my college, so I'd say it's totally possible to learn composition skills.

Re: Question about Music
I'm guessing Lounge piano music or something along that line.
Hey, I have an idea, let's have a THIS SUCKS / NO THIS SUCKS / NO YOU / NO YOU argument for a couple pages, that will really be great. - Ingmar
