Malware alert? (Fixed: Offsite Image)

Post by Ariel »

Note from Mods: It seems this has been taken care of. The alert was from images being linked in signatures to another site.

I was browsing the forums, and I saw this for the second time.

Has anyone else been getting these warnings? And what's with DCW, they seem to be either down or blocked by my browser for having a virus pretty often.

It's been like that for a while and
DCW is NOT dctp so maybe you should change your thread name.

I'm saying I got this message when I was browsing dctp. Did dcw infect dctp?

It's more likely that someone is using a DCW hosted signature, and that's what's triggering your scanner. If you could tell us where (ie: what threads) it popped up on when browsing, it could narrow things down.

This seems like the most likely answer to me. Let us know and we can look into it further.

I'm wondering about the malware alerts on DCW myself. The last time I started to get into a mega-Conan phase, I go to look something up and the site's down—and that was a couple months ago. It really sucks since anything from the site triggers a warning, too. How do they keep getting malware? I don't know how often it is, but at this rate it seems like there may need to be a warning to avoid using images from there. >_>;

This topic, page 6. That's the only place I've encountered the malware message on DCTP. I think DCW's malware is probably because of the ads or something.

there's two things those pages have in common... and that's comments from Osaka Detective and Wakarimashita...
It's probably Osaka's avvie, I recognise that Heiji from their wiki page, but just to be sure we could track down his comments and see if it happens there too.
I can't tell since my chrome has no problems at all :/

It's Conan 48:69's signature picture (I think). Taking care of it now. Let me know if you encounter it anymore.
