Come on small countries that nobody cares or knows about. Show what you can achieve.

The USA actually pulled ahead of China, and Team GB did utterly fantastic to get us into third, which is probably as high as anyone who isn't China or the USA can get :D Well done all!

(email a)Jd-: Meh, I agree with most of your long post from before, with some exceptions. I think I may've misinterpreted some of your previous posts a bit from the sounds of things. Well, I still disagree with a few of your points, but I'll leave it there.

Team GB did great yesterday, they seem pretty secure in their third place for now and though it's virtually impossible, it'd be awesome if they could manage a repeat of yesterday and have a shot at second.
Really though, congrats to all the Brits who did well yesterday and (even though he's American :x) Phelps leaving with a gold in his last race was nice.
Now, I'm thinking Murray and Robson are possibly gonna get a gold in the mixed finals and probably a silver in the men's singles. Either way, GB is guaranteed at least two silvers today and have several other chances in things like the sailing. :D

I think it was Goldman sachs who did some kind of report on the number of olympic medals saying that the amount of medals a country can get depends on the 1)the population of the country 2)how economically developed the country is 3)is the country hosting the event. In their predictions, Great Britain is set to end with around 30 gold medals which would be quite a feat and probably GB's best perfomance in a long time. Yesterday was already a historical journey for GB since the last time they won 5 gold medals in one day was several decades if not almost a century ago when 20-25 nations participated in the event.

30?! Wow, that'd be absolutely brilliant. Looking like Murray might beat Federer if he can just keep up then pace and we've got Ben Ainslie's gold, though the other sailing team ended up with a silver. So, at this point Team GB has 15... if we consider that the first 4(?) days were gold-free for Britain then that means they got that many within around 4 days and they could stand a chance at that predicted 30. I don't know, I'm hopeful, but don't want to be too expectant until the last day or two...

And he did. I'm kind of disappointed over it. I kind of had a hunch regarding Federer's chances but I never thought he'd go down like that. *sober*
But then again, well done Andy. You deserve it. You really do.
