Re: Controversial opinions
My fifteenth contribution: Most of Quentin Tarantino's movies are overly long and suffer from abysmal pacing. Stylistically, he is indeed a talent, and he's a good writer with a fine imagination, but he definitely indulges himself too much. There are a number of scenes in his movies that just simply go on too long, and a number of others that are simply unnecessary and would have been cut by most other directors. Inglorious Basterds had the makings of a good film in it, but it really should have been cut down by at least 20 minutes, if not 30. I don't mind sticking around for a 2 1/2 hour movie if the runtime warrants it, but that is not and has not been the case for any of Tarantino's movies. Inglorious Basterds somehow ended up with a runtime of 2 hours and 33 minutes (it only took another half hour for the Titanic to sink, which was one case where it actually worked). Oh, and speaking of which...
My sixteenth contribution: There is nothing at all wrong with watching romance movies, like Titanic or The Notebook, and enjoying them--even if you are male. Shocking, I know. Almost every story ever written has a romance angle to it. It's part of the human element and it's a part of virtually every human life in some form. I mean, c'mon--something like 95% of every single song ever written must be about love and relationships. Almost every great movie has or even simply is a love story. It's just the way that they mask it that convinces simpletons otherwise. Liking romance movies does not in any way make you less manly, and if you're really that insecure about your masculinity that you're that afraid to watch romance movies, I don't think you'll have to worry about an abundance of romance in your life anyway.

My first contribution, yay!
I don't really understand the hate on windows vista, it worked fine on my previous computer, I never had any problems with it!
And my second:
I've never been able to watch Titanic (nothing against your post JD, I do watch romantic crap from time to time, it makes you feel good), but it's just boring, really!

I don't find the DCTP April Fools this year very amusing ^^;. Yes, a truly controversial opinion. (EDIT: Just to clarify, that last sentence wasn't intended to be sarcastic, but I realised it could have been taken that way so just adding this disclaimer)

I agree with pretty much everything Jd- has said. In his 16 COs. (Hey, two COs in one!
)
Though I'd add an exception to #5: It doesn't apply if an ongoing series is scrapped in order for a remake, as in this case the remake actually causes content that'd exist otherwise to never be made.

Re: Controversial opinions
Most popular R&B music since...anywhere between the late 90s and mid 2000s, is mostly bad/mediocre at best.

Re: Controversial opinions
My seventeenth contribution: People are investing far too much time being offended, and the worst part is that most of the "offense" being taken in the modern world is on behalf of others. Very little of what we consider actually "offensive" is even being taken as "offensive" by the people that are being "targeted". Instead, it's the political correctness police that has made everything taboo, insinuating that even the slightest example of poorly-chosen wording is a vicious and venomous attack on even the widest group of people. There are some examples--and they are exceedingly few--of actual racism and the like in the media and whatnot, but far, far, faaaaaaaar less are actually offensive or meant to be taken that way.

My... Whatever number contribution this is: the reason this thread hasn't blown up like people predicted is because people secretly agree with everything (or almost everything) being said and just don't have the guts to say it themselves because of... Well, Jd-'s most recent contribution.

Ooh ooh I wanna contribute. Which is better Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. Personally I didn't like either, but I'd go with Harry Potter.Is Gandolf and Dumbledore the same actor?
