Harry's gotten addicted to cuddling, that's not always a good thing really.

I would like a small soft animal to hold.

We used to have a place next door that had a whole, large spooky driveway that attracted trick or treaters. That's not true anymore so no one has showed up here.

Only exception is if you have an exact mirror of your hard drive on another hard drive and you just switch the two when the hard drive crashes. (If you change something besides the hard drive, though, the OS's anti-piracy functions might lock you out.)Conia wrote:The majority of apps and softwares require installation, so even if they backed up all your files and restored them exactly as they were before the disk died, all the software would need to be reinstalled, since installation isn't only creating files but also changes in the registry of the OS and some other stuff.Kor wrote:A question for someone who might know about this stuff.
Last week my hard disk died and I had to give my mac book pro to a lab so they can put a new one in. While they kept managed to retrieve most of my data (per my request) all of the softwares and apps I had (Microsoft office, chrome, audacity, etc.) are nowhere in sight. The majority of these apps and softwares were given to me by my college when I enrolled (they were already in the mac when I received it).
My question is if this is normal that I don't see any of these programs and I need to contact my former college for assistance, or do I need to contact the mac lab I gave the computer to and the softwares and apps should have stayed cause I asked them to backup my data?

Me (up till yesterday): I really shouldn't do NaNo this year, considering how my grades are and the stress I've been through, I know I'm not going to finish....
Me (Nov 1st, 12-something AM): Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Screw it *starts typing*
*starts sobbing* I really shouldn't be doing this

Re: What's on your mind?
Finally - I have a bicycle
It's insanely red. And feels great. And I can turn on the lights without so much as looking.
Went on random bicycle tour #1 yesterday, towards the ocean and then south along the coast. Couldn't stop myself. This was supposed to be a short trip since I'm entirely out of shape, but ended up 25 km one way until I finally decided to have a closer look at the beach ^^
Also, watched plenty of Chinese songs on youtube to wrap my ears around the sounds. I'm starting to hear a little difference between those sounds that used to seem identical. Heck, I even sometimes guess right which one it is
Addit: Interesting how all the Thyphoons, as they start out, seem to be headed towards Taiwan, but then make a sharp 90° turn and go visit Japan instead.

Most of my writing for NaNo is on my notebook. Living next to the beach can really bring the artist within you. Also is official I am going to the East Coast again. East Coast: Winter Edition.
