From the description of how to make a Chinese 'r' sound: "Tongue tip vibrates."
Okaaay, if you hadn't lost me way back at 'zhi' already, you'd lost me now. WHAT. HOW. And WHYYYYY.
On a related note, my mouth hurts.

Opinions on Spice and Wolf, and Log Horizon, anyone?

Re: What's on your mind?
Weird question, but: When you guys pronounce 'sh' or 'ch' in English, where does the air come out from above the tongue?
Because, for me, the tip of the tongue stays on the roof of the mouth, and the air flows out to one side. And I'm getting the impression right now that's not how it's usually done (descriptions sound like the air is supposed to go over the tongue tip).
I'm aware my pronounciation is always really unclear even in my native language, but now I really begin to doubt my way of making sounds
I wonder if our forum linguist is reading this ^^
@Stoppy: I liked Log Horzion a lot, but watched it too long ago to remember a detailed opinion...

I'd definitely gave helpful tips if it wasn't for the fact that I'm so used to the Chinese sounds that, well, it's hard to describe where the air comes from. So yeah, only advice is
TRY AGAIN TRY AGAIN TRY AGAIN
So what is everyone picking up for the new anime season?

There's at least 5 that I can't think of...but at least 3 are "want to check out" (Other 2 being MK1412 and Yowapedal)Osaka Detective wrote:So what is everyone picking up for the new anime season?

Re: What's on your mind?
So far I'm going with MK and the Garo anime. Normally Garo doesn't interest me that much (watched its 3rd season, but couldn't get into its other seasons), but Yasuko Kobayashi is the head story writer, and I like her stuff, so I want to check it out.Osaka Detective wrote: So what is everyone picking up for the new anime season?
Other than that I'll probably check a couple of other things, but it's very rare nowadays that I watch new shows.

I think I just spent over an hour trying to use MS Paint to draw a diagram. That was a mistake, but I managed to end up with something decent last time so I thought I'd try again and just, no :/.

Re: What's on your mind?
I just discovered there was a special episode from an Israeli (live action) sitcom from the 90s in which they dubbed (and even localized) segments of a past episode in different languages. The German segment and Japanese segment were the best. In the Japanese one they even had a Captain Harlock reference when one of the characters saw a man with an eyepatch (in Hebrew it was a reference to Moshe Dayan).
EDIT:
CR has yet to announce if they pick up MK. Meanwhile, they have announced they'd stream this anime:
I wonder if CR hates us or something...

Anyone who hasn't seen Danny MacAskill's new video, The Ridge, really needs to check it out. The man is absolutely insane, but he chooses some damn pretty scenery to bike over.

Haven't watched Log Horizon, but Spice and Wolf was good IMO.Stopwatch wrote:Opinions on Spice and Wolf, and Log Horizon, anyone?
Or any new A1 Pictures titles at all, for that matter.Kor wrote:CR has yet to announce if they pick up MK.
I seriously don't have the time to watch anime as much as I'd like to so I'm going to concentrate on my backlog.
