Every person can have an opinion, true. But when your opinion is uninformed (which is true for Aquahorse's case), and not based on reality (which is also true for Aquahorse's case) and is outright offensive to others, bordering with hate-speech (which is, you guessed it, also true for Aquahorse's case), then there's really no reason for anyone to respect such opinion. Just because it's an opinion doesn't mean it has to be respected, especially when the speaker (Aquahorse) seems to have no respect to other people.
The only person who was driven by 100% prejudice in this whole ordeal is Aquahorse himself.
Suggesting the fault lies with other people here and not Aquahorse, simply doesn't work here.
Well, it's a no. 55% for No, 45% for Yes. I'm more just disappointed than upset. It'll come around again. Until then, time to sit back and wait for David Cameron to renege on all the things he promised us if we voted No.

10% difference? O_O I didn't pay much attention to this voting, but I heard that the voting was so close that even a single vote could change the outcome.
My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

Yeah, I heard the same, but it wasn't the case. They were close though.
And Manga, I really hope Cameron can deliver, you guys deserve more rights.

I get the feeling they're the same person. Uhmm, I don't know.. cause of the similarity in sentence construction, I guess?

I mean, it's almost like it's Aquahorse under a new account, defending himself under a new identity...!
(It totally is, in case anyone was wondering.)
Now, jokes aside, let's be real here for just a moment. Aquahorse has received at least four personal warnings in the past couple of months, all of which I sent personally and are replicated below:
Spoiler: Warning #1
From Jd- (August 4th)
Hello,
This is a PM to request you reign in the attacks on other users in all respects, calm down on the political discussions of all sorts, and just in general behave as if you are amongst friends, not adversaries.
To be truthful, in your time here, you have only really done two things effectively in the eyes of the community: lower the opinion of Russian people in general (a fate very undeserved on their part) and garner complaints. A lot of them. The way you choose to express yourself in English comes off, perhaps very unintentionally, as abrasive, unwitting, and as if you do not have a grasp of what anyone is saying.
A community is a place for apt and appropriate discussion in a friendly and welcoming manner. You spend an inordinate amount of time speaking on political matters in a manner that bears all the hallmarks of nationalistic propaganda. The way that you do so goes beyond that, as you have never given the impression for having any respect for others, their views, or their history, and this has made you a frequent topic of derision amongst the regulars.
The simple fact of the matter is that this is a very international community with a pretty even split across the board over various regions with a lot of different worldviews between them. In general, they co-exist without any issue whatsoever. Yet, it seems you have a lot of difficulty acclimating to this environment where there's really just no reason to continually attack other users as you have so many times. Ideally, this is a place for everyone to come and relax at the end of the day--not come and be verbally abused for essentially nothing whatsoever.
On virtually every other forum on the internet, you would have been banned a long time ago--we both know this much. But, we value active members of the community and always welcome newcomers as best we can. That is why, despite numerous complaints that you were bringing down the quality of discussion in general, making it a hassle to be involved in the forums, and simply just make others not want to post anything at all, I did not wish to place a ban outright.
In short: I wanted to give you a chance to alter your behavior and begin contributing to the community in a positive way. Please let me know if you feel we cannot do that and we can't all get along and have a good time.
Spoiler: Warning #2
From Jd- (August 28th)
As I was saying before, let's keep everything from getting derailed by going too deep into... contentious political subjects in a topic for which they are not intended (and one in which no one is interested in actually arguing because no one believes anything on the other side).
Spoiler: Warning #3
From Jd- (August 29th)
Obviously... that's a little bit more of the same. I understand you're passionate about this subject, but it's really just kind of grinding against everyone else and making the topic pretty unpleasant. Please don't bring it up again; just let it go, even if someone else mentions it. It'll pass and everyone will be having a better day because of it.
Spoiler: Warning #4
From Jd- (August 30th)
No more political posts--really, no more. No more warnings either; you've gotten really lenient treatment so far, you must agree with that. Let's try to make things pleasant for everyone instead of constantly indulging in repeating propaganda and nationalistic ideals without the slightest hint of objectivity.
No more political posts. In any topic.
Foremost, you're not going to find many users who have been given more lenient treatment, whether on this forum or elsewhere. That is some seriously lenient moderating. I won't replicate his replies here out of privacy other than to say he agreed each time to reign it in. None of this goes back to all of the other problems caused up to this point. None of this is even showcasing all of the posts that have been deleted that were authored by him. On almost every occasion that Aquahorse received a warning to chill out, he would instantly go back to posting the exact same thing he was just warned about. The only effective measure was a 24-hour ban that was very calmly and nicely-worded to encourage him to relax and try again in a day. I figured that was fair, and until another chance to talk politics came up, it was.
Of course, the other thing I won't include here is the giant log of people complaining to me, personally, about Aquahorse causing varying amounts of discomfort and offense on various subjects. Not because he was bringing up thought-provoking discussion, but because he was being outright offensive and dismissive of others without any actual discourse. It all just came off as regurgitating things that no one believed the first time he posted it, nor the fiftieth time.
Ultimately, what it came down to and the reason I decided to act at that point goes beyond all that: It's all down to detracting from the quality of discussion in this topic (and elsewhere on the forums). Derailing topics in a manner that does not positively add to the flow of discussion and encourage an actual exchange of ideas really just has no place. It makes a lot of people that have PM'd me about this specific matter not even want to bother reading the topic anymore, much less posting. So outside of the propaganda, hate speech, nonsense, insensitive remarks, plain ol' silliness, the ban-dodging, the disregard of some pretty kind and lenient warnings--wait, need I really go on here? C'mon, this is ridiculous.
The good thing about moderating in this community is it's pretty relaxed, for the most part. When something like this comes along, it's kind of embarrassing to have to deal with it. However, I decided to cover this directly as I don't want to see any sort of propagandist spin about a lack of "free speech" for people to hide behind. We are all for challenging all types of ideas; in fact, we have hundreds of pages of discussions and debates on religion, drugs, guns, gay marriage, the paranormal, etc. This is a close-knit community that isn't going to let otherwise interesting topics be derailed or made completely unpleasant and unreadable for absolutely no reason other than one guy with an unreasonable mindset happened to find the post button.
crispy23 wrote:Elixir, you're wrong, I don't know this person is, simply want to tell my opinion. I am not English, so there may be a little accent...
Don't lie after you already dodged a ban in the process to defend yourself. Basically everything you've done lately is against all of the rules, but specifically against the age-old sockpuppeting rule (which is ironic given how often you've used that as a slur against countries you disagree with).
As a reminder, Crispyhorse:
The Creator of the Forum Rules wrote:— Multiple accounts: If you've lost your password and can't be bothered recovering it, feel free to make a new account. Don't, however, use the two accounts for strange schemes (cheating in random forum games, agreeing with yourself, etc; in other words, don't be mental). If you're so interested in sockpuppeting, add this to your list of possible future careers.
Can you not yet see how unreasonable you appear in comparison to everyone else, even in this context? That's the point everyone's made, quite calmly and without animosity.
Glad we've gotten that out of the way. Go back to your main account, but this is a pretty obvious last chance--Keep in mind everything everyone's said on this subject. There's no reason we can't all get along, especially from this point forward.
what house are you in?
I know we had a topic about this some time ago, but I'm lazy to find it XD
BTW, did you get my PM Jd-? Haven't heard from you in a while :V

Kind of weird to me. I thought that Pottermore was just a shop, but when I looked it up, there does seem to be more than books.
As for your other post, Elixir, I hope you found the thread. This forum has a little annoyance in that regard, but fortunately, this place is not like those computer forums, so it is not really necessary, though I should probably bring up the issue in a more appropriate area.
