It reached my house :o

The epicenter(that word exists, right?) was in Chile, who suffered most of the damage, but it reached Argentina with less power. Actually, I saw how the water in my pool started moving for no reason(from my point of view of course).

just think, the earthquake in Haiti was a 7.0, but the one in Chile was an 8.8

that's roughly 80 times as powerful, shhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeit.

(and yeah epicenter is indeed a word)

Yeah dude that earthquake was so massive, part of Japan got flooded by the ocean waves created by the earthquake.

Anyone else kinda believe in 2012 now..two catastrophic earthquakes that happened not too long ago?

I don't believe ;D. The world is falling apart due to human race, we all know that, but 2012 is not the end. Just because the Mayans didn't end a calendar, the world is over? I say they got tired of making it and left it there.  :P

Nah, it's just that the shifting tectonic plates in that region have reached a particularly volatile stage. All plate shifts hit this kind of thing sooner or later. I'm not good enough at geography to know how long this kind of thing lasts, but I don't believe it's short-term.

not to mention, on the 26th japan had its own 7.0 at some of its islands to the south, poor japan.

and yeah, as mangaluva said, major earthquakes do happen in cycles. iirc, they've actually been predicting a pretty big earthquake in cali for a few years now.

On midnight of New Year's 2013, instead of going "Happy New Year!" I'm going to scream "FAIL, Mayans!" :D

We've kind of been noticing the storm for over a month. If it doesn't stop snowing like this I'm going to go mental like that guy in the Shining.

I basically need to be out of California very soon before I get owned by the San Andreas Fault Earthquake (estimated to be over 7.0 scale, affecting most of Southern CA but the fault does continue on to Northern CA).
