The [Formerly] Stickied Topic (Randomness Incorporated)

If you have some randomness to share that you can't post elsewhere, this is the place to do it.

Girl, you do NOT know cold. It was -15 C here today! And the wind is like daggers here, not teeth.

Pretty cold here. Not quite as cold as in Canada, but cold. We're at -13C. A couple of people I know in Montreal were commenting that if you factor in the windchill it's cold enough to not care which scale you're using.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

-12 to -18 is more common right now, which is why I said -3 was warm :P

Though it was really funny when it started snowing and everyone was freaking out and my Finnish classmates were just like "lol, you're cute"

That WOULD have been funny... Although I live in a place where they sometimes have to cancel school because of how much snow there is... Lucky kids.

@miaka - Yeah, the wind IS the worst, isn't it? Man, I remeber days that snow was something I absolutely loved and spent every second throwing snowballs at poor unsuspecting passer-by's  from my tree house... Good times. But now? I can't even put a toe out of my door without shaking from the cold!

What's the max temperature that you usually have in summer?

Hmmm... Depends on the year. I think the average is 26 C, but there have been many cases of the temperature going over 30 C. Not lately though. Which is odd, with the Global Warming and all... Seems more like Global Freezing.

You can't have 100% alcohol anyway :x
Also, drinking alcohol actually cools you down :V

We tend to consider 20C a hot day during the summer : x

Also, I dunno if whisky actually does cool you down or not, I just know that it's bloody hard to feel cold when you've got a whisky fire going in your stomach XD

(In the thirteenth century, an English scholar said that the reason whisky was so popular in Scotland was because beer froze and had to be sold in lumps by the pound... dunno if that's true or if he was just being bitchy :P)

technically yes, but this is really only an issue if you're in survival conditions. Otherwise if it's just you being uncomfortable, it doesn't matter that you're actually losing heat as long as you feel warmer :P

Exactly. Now forgive me, I'm getting some Vodka, so don't be surprised if my posts start to get more randoom and full of fangirling. I do that a lot when I'm drunk.

It's been cold enough for the past few days that when we ran out of room in the fridge I put my box of Dairylea triangles on my windowsill and they're still good :P Maybe I should buy one of the wee single-pinters of milk and see if that bloody window can keep that cold too. (Heating? Aahahahahahaha, that costs money and we're students and had a choice between internet and heating)

I know :P But technically you still loose warmth :P
And some people do use alcohol in order to warm up (survival wise, not just feeling wise)
