So my mom is handling the "I might be moving out very soon" thing surprisingly well. That's a good thing, I was expecting this to be a lot harder than it has been. She hasn't cried or anything yet (I imagine that's coming when we're actually moving me out).
But the weird part of all of this is that over the course of the last four days, I've gained: salt and pepper shakers (pretty nice ones too, actually), a small bottle of laundry detergent, two bottles of hand soap, a roll of paper towels, and she's already told me that she's giving me a toaster and some dishes. And possibly something else that I've forgotten.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. It's not like that stuff will go to waste or anything. I'm just a little shocked by how she's handling this. Maybe it's weird of me to think this is weird for her, I dunno.

She's probably glad she's finally rid of you. Iirc, my mom acted kinda similiar back then, it was only my grandma who kept on crying.
And what IS the name of the student mangaluva likes to call a screaming bender?
Yeah, I know that my dad basically told me "well, once you finish college, we're giving you until the end of the year to get out, then we're chucking anything that's left in the trash :V"

PT's Dad: By the way, I haven't seen our daughter for a while now, has she been busy?
PT's Mom: Oh, didn't we tell you? She moved out last month.
PT's dad: O_o Oh, okay.

LMAO. XD;
My parents are divorced and only talk when they absolutely have to. In fact, I'm the same way. I only talk to him when I have to, too.

My mum was like that too. She even gave me all kinds of stuff that I needed when moving out when I graduated and when I moved she happily helped me and she also gave me stuff that she didn't need herself. But it is not like we don't like each other or anything, she just is nice and thinks it is good to live alone. My dad on the other hand is still trying to make me move in with him.
Although I had to move back for a couple of days straightly after I had moved out since there was mold in my refrigerator. So gross, I couldn't eat for a long time. And when I called to make the landlord change it I was told that it could take up to two weeks so mum called them and then it was magically changed right away. I guess that I am to mellow.

PT's dad: So that's why you were carrying furniture around all November? I meant to ask, but it seems I forgot.
PT's mom: *facepalm* YES, that's why. You could have helped, mind you.
PT's dad: When there's football on? Get a grip on reality, woman.
@nom: Yeah, moms work great against mould 'n stuff.
