playin some Ys Origin

played through it with the first character (a melee char) which was pretty fun, then started playing with the second character (a ranged character) which was not so fun. Until I got an ability that lets you place a timed mine down that explodes after a few seconds, which isn't that good tbh, except that if you lay down two at the same time they both immediately explode. So, it lets you chain mines and dump your entire mana bar almost instantaneously as damage to enemies, which is pretty hilarious.

I don't think it's intended, but it's pretty funny and I'm abusing it anyway.

Don't worry, the Fire Emblem for the 3DS has a Casual mode where deaths only last until the end of the map for people who are bad and can't deal with the fact that a game based on war has death.

but seriously, it's not that hard.  Trial and error, and being really cautious will give you miles
It can pretty much give you a no-deaths run :x
Just being really cautious (and patient) got me through all of Path of Radiance without reloading (except for two Game Over, once against the Dark Knight in that port town, and once due to extraordinary bad luck Ike misses against a boss two times at ~90, after which the boss scores a critical (~5) -.- :x) or losing a single character (well, of those I had already recruited :x). Though I did abuse some AI quirks :x
If  ;), :D, ;D, ::), :P, :-X, :o or >:D are attached, that paragraph may not be 100% serious. Seriously.

Path of Radiance is the easiest Fire Emblem ever, though.

Also, the story and text does change in Fire Emblem 1 if Sheena dies.

I did that for 30 hours in Sacred Stones, I think I got to like chapter 17. I still don't see the point though, outside of the cool character interactions there is nothing FE does better than Advance Wars as a strategy game or Final Fantasy Tactics as a strategy game with RPG elements. And no, killing off characters and making sure none of your other characters ever acknowledge this does not get me to care about the horrors of war. It does the opposite, it is a disasterously bad decision that utterly wastes all the effort put into making you care about any of this. But they didn't want to put in the effort to add all the extra dialogue. Think of if your favorite characters from your favorite series were killed off halfway through and they were never mentioned again, even by friends and family members. Would that not be the most infuriating and intelligence insulting thing that could possibly happen?

I will admit that this series is, at least partially, not for me but that just really annoys me to no end. It's a great idea but it just throws it away when a character dies like it doesn't matter and no one cares. And if no one cares, why should I care despite the fact that caring about the characters is why it should work and what seperates it from other games.
To each their own I guess, I like the constant threat of permanent death in my games.  That's why I really enjoy playing Diablo 2 Hardcore mode back in the day, and a lot of Search and Destroy type of shooters in CoD or Counter-Strike.

Makes me value the lives of the characters more, instead of just running and gunning into the fray, or charging head in knowing that "hey, he'll just respawn" or "don't worry he'll just get downed, in a couple secs he'll be back up"

Also, I'm open arms for more Pokemon crossovers, more so to franchises that I actually recognize.  I saw some brilliant Madoka Pokemon fanart...I want to play that game.

I've recently gotten a new copy of Final Fantasy IX for the PlayStation and started playing it as soon as it came in the mail.

Hyrule Total War :D

Though there still a lot to do for the creator like such basic things like Diplomats :x
I would really like to sign a peace treaty with those Zora, but I just... can't -.-
Oh well, I suppose I can also go to war with them >.>  That's what they get for besieging Kakariko XD

I am playing LEGO Batman (PS3) now, I'm having a blast, it reminds me of my childhood when I would play with my LEGOs.

(I used to own the PS2 version, but I never got to finish it)

I spent a week playing lots of games. Mostly MGS3D, Minish Cap and Pushmo. I've found that MGS is not my type of game. I kinda knew but this confirms it for me. Which confirms Hideo Kojima is a genius because I still really like it. Weird.

Might be because its MGS3D, I hear the port wasn't that good (bad controls),

and yeah man, Hideo Kojima is one rocking smart dude.  Love the MGS series

not any more bad than any other MGS game I've played (original, 2, Twin Snakes) at least.

wow, so all the MGS games you've played on consoles have been isometric view (top down, no 3d free range camera) yeah, those controls are sucky and outdated.

MGS3: subsistence implements a normal third person free range camera that's like 1000x better.  I'm not sure if MGS3D is like that.  But, if you don't like stealth games, what can I say...guess, you just ain't "boss" enough.
