Grades 1-3 were horrible.  Not too bad after that.

5th grade to 11th grade, and 12th and 13th occasionally. 6th to 9th was the worst time.
(Germany has no distinction between middle and high school; the Gymnasium goes straight from 5th to 12/13th grade)

There's no middle/high school split in Scotland either. Seven years of Primary, four to six years of Secondary. I did all six years of Secondary because you have to to get into University, although the last two years were alright anyway because most of the people who bullied me had dropped/flunked out at the end of fourth year.

With me it wasn't a single bully and it was no physical bullying.
It was comparatively mild but I was at the lowest point of the social ladder so everyone above me (even our "geeks") would make fun of me. Our last year was interesting because you could actually see it all shift as some of the boys grew up.
I also found a very good friend. That helped a lot.

At like fourth grade everyone stopped making fun of me, I dont know why.
