Guess whose Magic Kaito DVDs arrived today?

Now I don't really have any intention of posting a ripped version of the actual opening and ending themes on Youtube or Mediafire or something like that, (don't feel like having Shogakukan breathing down my neck) but I did want to share the new footage with you all, so here are screencaps of the new animation for the Magic Kaito opening and ending themes.

If you're willing to take the dive instead of me, sure. I don't really know how to rip the DVD properly though without removing audio and adjusting the footage size; I usually only rip footage for AMV purposes. If you can walk me through it without me stumbling through figuring it out myself it'd be appreciated. Think I got it, and if I can't get the audio to work, I can figure it out somehow.

It'd be cool though if you could use em in your releases of the MK episodes...

I like the opening but wow the ending is awful beyond belief.

Uuuuh... I don`t really understand. So the DVD version of MKs have different opening and ending theme?? Which episodes are they??

*blink* All of them. The episodes thus far on DVDs 1 and 2 (all that's been released so far) use "Misty Mystery" for their opening theme. "Pilgrim" is used as the ending theme for episodes 1-3, and "Your Best Friend" is used for 4-6. It wouldn't have made sense to keep the opening and ending theme animations for Detective Conan on DVDs specifically for Magic Kaito, so new animations were made. (Which is actually what I expected anyway.)

They *could* have kept the original animation for Pilgrim since the original was just a clip show from the episode. Nice to see they didn't, I guess.

Also wait. I see no credits in any of the screenshots you posted. Did they include textless animations? o_O

Yup! They sure did. For both versions of the ending too, even though it was the same footage. *scratches head in confusion*

I wonder... Do you think they'll make another new animation for the episodes with the current opening? Or is this why the current opening has so many Magic Kaito characters?
