Kaito & Shinichi comparison

I've made "Kaito is a young Batman", now let's compare Kaito and Shinichi!

Similarities:

they are famous
they have above average intelligence
they are good at sports
they have a secret identity
they have a childhood friend
they have famous parents
they are excellent marksmen
they have an old man who helps them
they inspire that sort of frothing desire in the female masses

Differences

Kaito is a trickster-type while Shinichi is a bookworm-type
Kaito sucks at ice-skating while Shinichi sucks at singing
Kaito is good at imitating people while Shinichi is good at skateboarding
Kaito is a skilled magician while Shinichi is a skilled soccer mid-fielder

Kaito and Shinichi look nearly identical.

Kaito is acting at least partially out of revenge, whereas Shinichi looks down on revenge as a motivation for committing crimes. Shinichi commits his crimes because...er...because he's Shinichi and he knows best

Actually, the crimes Shinichi commits (impersonating policemen, breaking and entering, the crap he pulls with Kogoro, etc) seem to be motivated just by situational ruthlessness. :V Whatever gets him from point A to point B.

I read somewhere that they have the same IQ level and blood type. And that they both have eidetic (photographic) memory (same as the rest of the Gosho geniuses). Their dads were rivals. They're both rich. And as Kaito said in the Ryouma file, they both can't say no to their moms.

Their girlfriends look the same (or they can be big sister-little sister)

And, let's face it, they have absolutely have no idea how to deal with the girls they love. Well, they can be sweet every now but it will take them some time to admit their feelings.

I would totally hate it if Gosho were trying to pull of "Spiral-Suiri no Kizuna" kind of ending that one is actually a clone of the other, created by parents who want to conquer the world for the sake of some stone-age rivalry *seriously* faints. Unfortunately, I could imagine Yusaku and Toichi coming up with the secret conspiration plan….though I believe that Gosho can come up with a better explanation!!!

Every thing Kaito does Shinichi can read all of it.
They are both hiding something from mostly everybody.
but they sort of have different perspectives of life

As a follow up to the statement above, they're both perverts, but Shinichi manages to keep that side of him in check while Kaito lets it run rampant. XD

In the first chapter, he did end up under Ran's skirt by accident while dodging. Granted, he didn't seem to regret it... XD

Yeah, I also thought about that! The difference with Kaito is that he wouldn't end up under a girl skirt by accident, but because he wants to! XD
