Ok I've been writing this paper and because I'm insane I've been using episode 219 well more accurately the heist note in 219 as an example of a pictorial symbol. And well the more I stare at I realize something that's always bothered me What angle is Kid's head drawn from ? I've always seen it as a side view but it could also be a front one because of the charm.

I've always thought of it as a front view. He's got the monocle and the other eye shaded by his hat.

Just remember to put in that KID always draw his symbol different every time so that the police will know a copy cat is not the one sending in the heist notice. (Well, an artist copy cat did used this against him once but since he generates so much media buzz, he always appears anyway to clean up his name)

i thought it was hand drawn each time so unchallengingly that you'd need a really good forger to pull it off. I assume the text on the notes are printed of they'd have been talking about handwriting analysis. Oh well the point is you see that little doodle and you know exactly who sent the note without having to know Japanese.
