I just noticed all those similarities between the two
Both:
- have several gadgets
- have a butler
- are quite wealthy
- have genius-level intellect
- have a handglider
- have lost their father
- fight against crime (Well, sorta...)
- have above average physical abilities
- have a secret identity
- go out only at night
- are hated by the police
- have numerous admirers

Pretty sure Jii isn't a butler. He was a magician assistant and friend to Toichi now he's Kaito's thieving assistant (and a voice of reason).

I didn't think that Kaito was that wealthy. I mean, he steals jewels, but he gives them back so he isn't making a profit.

Probably because young master is an English equivalent of Kaito-Bocchama. I think bocchama means "son of" or something like that.
