Kid != Batman in any shape or form.

Nothing about them is the same. From how they handle themselves, values, or motivation. It is an insult to Batman to say otherwise. That is all.

I think they were playing the "vigilante with an older manservant out to revenge the death of his parent(s)" angle.

Also, Hakuba compares Kid to Batman at one point in the manga :P Kaito's jus tlike "bitch plz, Batman's not real!" XDXDXD

Hakuba's introductory chapter, MK chapter 15.

Batman WAS out for revenge, until he received his training. He then left that behind and promised on his parents' grave that he would protect Gotham as best he could, both financially and as Batman. He views Batman as a curse that he must bear to honor his parents' memory and to continue their work of protecting Gotham, as he realized that it could not be saved monetarily alone...

Batman also tried to avert dick grayson from going down that path teaching him to seek justice, not revenge, as the former will leave you empty and your hands stained with blood.

Again nothing about them is the same, kid is barely a vigilante. And he doesn't have the honor drive or training of batman, nor intelligence for that matter. Kid and Batman cannot be compared.

You know a better come back would have been to comment he's being asked "who does he think he is" by a guy cosplaying as Sherlock Holmes.
