I know there is a reason. But does really every single theft have as a motive the capture of the murderers of his father and the destruction of that gem? To me, he seems also enjoying being a thief and humiliating others by fooling them.

We can't have Conan being on the winning side all the time, right? And he's not actually a bad guy.

Of course. But I would prefer Conan being at the losing side in some other cases, not those involving Kid.

By him putting Genta to sleep. But that's of course not the main reason for me to hate Kid.

That's not true!!!! There are many characters I like. For example the Detective Boys, Yamamura, Ran, Shuuichi Akai, Megure etc. I also like Mori Kogoro sometimes... But not always.

The stuff that can't possibly be Pandora is generally the stuff that he's been challenged to by Jirokichi or that guy who murdered for the paintings. He doesn't like copycats, particularly violent ones, and when it comes to Jirokichi... I think he's too proud to pass up a challenge and likes giving a bit of free entertainment to the nation. He's first and foremost a performer, so he can't resist when Jirokichi gives him a stage.

Anyway, back on topic, I woulds normally say I'd prefer for kid to just have his own series outside of DC, but I don't think there's enough material there for anything more than 26 episodes.

+1 @ mangaluva. The tasing, the riot-starting, and Kid the Sexual Predator in the movie all bothered me a little, since the nonviolence was such an obvious thing in MK and in his first appearances in DC.

(Even in MK, though, it sometimes got disturbing...that robot story comes to mind. )

The robot was a little different... wasn't alive, for one thing, it was just psychotically mental. I'm fairly sure he saw it murder its creator... that thing was generally creepy and psycho (that grin... especialyl after Kaito had shot half its face off, so it was half creepily grinning Kaito-face and half psycho Terminator-face...). He's against harming any living person, but he doesn't seem to have a problem with breaking stuff, so yeah...

It was in equal parts an awesome and deeply disturbing chapter. Did I mention the way that thing grinned?
