Magic Kaito Anime Announced!

Hmm, If there ever was a full anime adaptation of Magic Kaito, do you think they'd leave the Yaiba v. Kid and Crystal Mother out? I can assume they'd either do a Kid's POV of Black Pearl, and they can't really do the clock tower since it was covered already in DC.

I mean I guess they could, it's not like it's against the law to animate something twice, xD but overall, if they had a Magic Kaito Anime, how dependent and interlocked with Detective Conan do you think it would be? Would Kid v. Conan episodes become crossover specials for both animes? Would they run the same episode but from different prospectives (Doubtful, but that would be so awesome).

It would be interesting, but the thing is they did kind of centre those episodes around Kaito's perspective as much as Shinichi's, even more in the Clock Tower, so I don't know. I just hope they don't shove Conan into EVERY chapter. As far as I can tell, actually, the Black Pearl was the only MK chapter to feature DC characters. Whatever the case, it would just be nice to see MK animated. Besides, I have an awesome AMV idea which depends on having more than fifteen seconds' worth of Akako clips.

Why would the bother announcing it as a new Anime if it's going to be an OVA..unless they haven't....
I see it being twelve episodes that are not in order MK time line wise. They'll choose the five episodes to establish the characters(maybe even less) and the remaining seven will be the ones similar to things you find in DC(so expect a lot of Hakuba..if there was a lot of him to begin with). So at worst they'll have a portion of DC fans watching and maybe can get a return on DVD sales from them.

Unless they have been told from the start that the show is getting canceled after one episode, they'll look bad if the one made one and have to go on a break to make the others .

What if this episode (or multi-episode arc) is supposed to END MAGIC KAITO ONCE AND FOR ALL!

I want to say I can't see that happening because MK would be a money-maker when if DC ends, but I'm not so sure about the veracity of the italicized statement.  After all...  High-school dude taking on a mysterious organization that is out to kill him, while at the same time trying not be be found out by his childhood friend's father...  Sounds like it's been done before, not sure where though...

Other than Detective Conan, it reminds me of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne...  I watched that recently and all I could think of was how Kaitou Kid was so much better than her.... and he doesn't even have to rely on Angels and long annoying transformation sequences...

Though admittedly, DC was done after MK. It often seems like a saner version of MK that stays on the right side of the law as much as possible. I'm hoping that end this isn't the case, too. I'd like it to end epically, thankyouverymuch.
