No, they aren't either, I think.
The name should explain why:
"Original Video Anime" made by ShonenSunday - exclusivly produced...
That is written at the beginning of every OVA, so I think they are not written by Gosho Aoyama - like the AOs...
He's named Cool Kid and they named me the agent who feared them most...:  Shuichi Akai !

I've heard that the 4th one is based on a Magic Kaito chapter.

If you mean the OVA with Crystal Mother (which is OVA 4, I think), then you're right...
OVA 4 is based on a Magic Kaito chapter but Conan wasn't there. So, the only thing they did was putting Conan in the video and then they called it DC OVA...
The first OVA is also based on a Magic Kaito chapter...
And again, they only put Conan in there to call it a DC OVA...

But in MK, KID. vs. Yaiba wasn't just some whacked out dream...
So Haibara's "radar" goes off at odd times, right? And she thinks that it is linked to the Black Org, right?
But all of the times it's gone off, there have been FBI (or suspected FBI) members there...
So, it's an FBI radar.

well, it's clear that Kuroba Kaito knows that Edogawa Conan is Kudo Shinichi in the movies, as displayed in movies 3 and 8. But since Gosho does not write the movies, it still remains ambiguous whether or not KID knows Conan's identity, or just treats him as an extraordinary child.

Yes, Kaitou KID does know in the anime/manga series. In volume 30 (Episode 219), he calls Conan and Ran the "Two lovers you don't want to meet," meaning he knows that Conan is Shinichi. He probably said that because their love can do anything (even kill someone maybe!!! :o), and also because their relationship is so similar to him and Aoko's...
That's my theory, but I'm pretty certain KID knows about Conan in the actual series.

Maybe Gosho does not want to spill how KID came to know Conan's true identity?

no, the movies aren't plot-related which means that they are not written by Gosho Aoyama himself...
Well, he is watching over the script for all movies but basically they are written by someone other than Gosho, so...
(I think there are two different writers for the movies, but this is only speculation...)
I'm not sure tha Gosho writes the entire stories for the movies, but he does have quite a bit of say in the production of the script, (according to my deductions) since on the manga version of Movie 3, he wrote that the one thing he wanted to do with this particular movie was to make Kaitou KID say "Ladies and Gentlemen!!!" at the top of the Tsuuten Tower in Osaka, meaning that he could do what he wanted with the script. The same goes for the plot of Movie 1, since it's said that the story was based on his original idea for the ending of Magic Kaito. And since he made it that Kaitou KID knows Conan's identity in the actual series, I think that he actually does write the script, or at least the storyboards for the movies.

Okay, reviving this thread here...

ANYWAY, I take back what I said up there^.
Reason being, I found Aoyama-sensei's own English translation of those lines, and it turns out he was refferring to Kaito and Conan... (Yes, his English grammar isn't very good, but forgive him... He's good enough writing DC for us!)

"Who is that guy?"
"Huh, he is a sort of sweetheart i want to avoid..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But I'm still sticking with the belief that Kaito knows about Conan. Any genius like Kaito would immediately find it suspicious that a 7 year old kid has enough intellect to figure out all his tricks and nearly catch him all the time.
There are two OVAs based on Kid chapters and half of episode 219, I believe. I never read Yaiba, but are you sure you're not thinking of the chapter where Kid stole from Yaiba?
Yeah, he started DC about twenty chapters into MK and then dropped MK for the rapid popularity of DC. There've been a few MK chapters published since, though- the Clock Tower, Chat Noir and Black Knight, I think.
I agree. It's just waay to suspicious.
Spoiler:
Maybe I've missed it, but if what the person has said about KID disguising as Shiratori and overhearing Conan's conversation with Agasa was true (Well it probably is anyway according to the person), KID would have most probably known already...
Though contradicting myself a little, I do find it abit wierd linking Conan to Shinichi /: . Different names, body, it's really hard to be sure:3.
