Seems I'm late to the Kid party. Sorry for the wait on this -- there were a number of reasons, but it was mostly due to me knowing between jack and diddly about baseball, and having trouble with my attempts at fact-checking information on the specific game that occurs in this chapter.

Also, I believe congratulations are in order for the Nagashima family, for utterly destroying any chance of having a comprehensible timeline between MK and DC.

I know there's a cleaned-up version of Vol. 1 by Scythe GP that you can download from StopTazmo: http://stoptazmo.com/manga-series/magic_kaito/

There's another version that I personally like better available to read on Mangafox, which I believe was done by Null and Mobots, but I can't be entirely certain. I haven't been able to download it from their site to check, either -- I'm easily confused where bots are involved -- but here's their page for it, at least: http://www.n-u-l-l.net/?a=manga-view&i=14&d=47&t=0

There may be others, but those are the ones I know of.
