Kura/CocaKura's Illustrations

Er, hi guys! There's not enough Detective Conan fans in the part of the internet I usually hang out at so I figured I'd join this forum! Oh god, it's been ages since I used BBCode, so please forgive me if I make any ridiculous mistakes!
Anyway, you might have seen me around before. I go by CocaKura on DeviantART, Yuwenicorn on Tumblr, my LJ is Kurafufu (inactive except for communities), and my Dreamwidth is Killua. I thought I'd make my very first post an art post, since that's what I do. I hope you like them!
Sorry these aren't the full size versions or displayed the way I originally intended them to be. I think I'd break the forum if I did. You can, however, see the full sizes at one of these locations:

I know that one~
(wasn't the Conan Kaito side flipped upside down and then mirrored?)
and the title was Stranger in ten years right?
also you mentioned adding those clouds later because of what a friend said... or something...
I love the clouds... wish I could make good backgrounds,...
(*feels like asking 'teach me plz'*)

Those two are great! I love the balance between them and the background is just gorgeous.

Yep! I guess you must have seen it at one of the other places! I drew it with the intention of having it mirrored, but because of how long it is I decided to just put them side by side for this forum. And yep, my friend and former classmate felt I could paint a better background and so I updated it to what you see right now!
I'm really glad you like it!! And aha, I'm really not suited to teaching. But just practice and experiment and I'm sure you'll create wonderful things! ♥ ♥ ♥

That's pretty awesome, not gonna lie. Clouds are def awesome.
although, Kaito's leg looks like it's broken from the way it bends

I lose some of the fluidity of the gesture by fixing it, but you're right; it was a little bit odd. I've made it less CLAMP-esque now and updated the post! I hope it looks better and I'd love to get your opinion on it again! Now just to go and update all the other places I've posted it...

it looks a lot better now, yeah

(not that it was bad before :V)
dunno what exactly you mean by CLAMP-esque though as I haven't seen enough of their stuff to really realize any bendy-legs
though it looks like there's still a teeny bit of bend to it (near the ankle), it's not that noticeable and as you said, removing it entirely would ruin the flow of the pose a bit. So, looks good now \o/

Haha, that was just me getting in a little dig at CLAMP's more recent works. Mokona's art style has become extremely elongated and rubbery in recent years, so everyone looks like they're either missing their skeleton or their bodies are made of rubber like Luffy's from One Piece. I actually did do a layout sketch over my original and it was probably just within the bounds of what is possible for the leg to do without breaking, but I figured it'd be less distracting if I just fixed it. His foot I didn't change though because I want it to look like he's landing on his heel? If that makes sense!
In any case, thanks so much for your input! I really appreciate it! ♥ ♥ ♥

Ah, thank you so much everyone!! I'm so glad you guys like the first piece I posted, so here I am with another one.
I spent a bit of time yesterday repainting a good portion of this, correcting errors, and all in all updating the piece. The original version was painted in 2010, and it was received very well at various conventions, so I decided to reprint it this year but only after I fixed it up a bit.
In any case, I hope you guys will like it!

Man, you are GODLY with backgrounds

Really loving the colors in this one <3
Oh, I'm wondering. As a fellow artist (though nowhere near as awesome xD) I know that fixing up things and getting opinions is a nice thing. Are you looking for critiques? If so, I would love to help out, as critiquing seems to help me improve as well ^^
Let me know and I'll definitely give you my full opinion \o/
