If it's any consolation, Elena doesn't really make a habit of doing what she did in Black Gambit. And there is a scientific explanation behind the "prophecy" which keeps getting mentioned.
Those are indeed 5 of the seven classmates. The other two are Kaito and Shiho. Now, none of these seven people (or Ran, who was also there) remember what happened on that day, or of meeting each other on that day. Only Masumi remembers. Elena Miyano was behind what happened on that day.
Atsushi has been busy working on something that will null Yoko's plan (which the White Organisation predicts will eventually be chosen over the Council's plan). Both of them will die. But if it's any consolation, Shiho, Akemi, and Satoshi will be finally reunited as a family at the end.
One reason that I disliked Black Gambit was because of its excessively dark tone. I'm trying to move away from that now.
Spoiler:
Yeah, I misstated things—I meant that as an example of Shinichi's morality not truly being overridden, through it was in every moment since Ran's death up to that point. And, again, the Organization can just up and resurrect him, so Shinichi technically gets off, like Elena.
Looking forward to it!
Of course she'd set it up... I suppose that explains why Shiho/Ai is one of the seven.
Ah, I see.
I didn't find it too dark. What'll you do when the time comes for another Black Gambit-esque story?
