My Fanfics

Post by Swagnarok »

I've decided to post my fanfic stories here (because hey, why not?). Note that at the time when I was writing my first conan story (in late 2015/early 2016) I hadn't yet reached episode 500, and when I first began I might've possibly been in the 300s (note: at the time of this most recent update I'm at episode 865).

Without further ado:

A Birthday Surprise from the Black Organization (883-886):
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11664957/1 ... ganization

Black Gambit (910-915):
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11945313/1/Black-Gambit

The Vanishing Weapon Murder Case (916-917):
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12075638/1 ... urder-Case

The Programmer's Mansion Murder Case (918):
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12091840/1 ... urder-Case

Because I'm just that much of an attention w#0re, I will answer any questions you have about my stories. Also, whenever I publish new stories (those pertaining to Detective Conan) I'll post them here.

(UPDATE: The manga case following "Curse of the Nue" is the Takasaki Airport Case, which comprises episodes 880-881. Detective Conan Movie 21, "The Crimson Love Letter", is considered to be the last canon DC movie.)
(UPDATE #2: "Lie, Lie, Lie" by Maki Ohguro comprises episodes 869-879, and then "SILVER BULLET" by Egoist is the next opening, covering episodes 880-909. "Yume Monogatari" by BREAKERZ comprises episodes 865-875, and after that is "Kimi To Yakusoku Shita Yasashii Ano Basho Made" by LaPomPon, comprising episodes 876-885. 875 is the last real episode to be considered canon for the purposes of my story.)

Where would you place these stories, in terms of manga files? (I like that you've got the specific numbers down, by the way)

I actually haven't put any thought into that. I'd have to google the manga chapters, compare them to their anime counterparts, and then do some math.

Just finished Birthday Surprise. I always like big BO confrontation fics—and this was no exception. Very nice work!
Spoiler:
About it's placement—it would be after Soul Detective (951–953), right? Because Masumi calling Mary "Mama" is mentioned. Speaking of which, I did not expect Mary to turn out to be a third Miyano child.

Didn't expect Korn to be Vermouth's father, the Boss, and the brother of Pisco (Didn't expect him to be the boss, either), or that he'd die. Didn't see this BO council coming, either. Gosho may not be going with the "BO is a global danger" angle, but it certainly is a stakes-raiser.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my first fanfic! I assumed that by episode 883 all current manga cases (especially when talking about only those which were completed by early 2016) would've been made into anime episodes. I didn't learn about the "mama" reference until after I wrote my story (or perhaps the manga case in question didn't come out until later) so when I saw it I retconned my story by adding that.
You certainly have no obligation to keep on reading (by reading this first one you've already done me a favour), but if you choose to keep on going let me warn you that "Black Gambit" isn't quite as good in my opinion, but it was a necessary write for any episodes after that. Also, I'll probably at some point change the Kohji Haneda resolution which I put in there, seeing as how on this site it was proven bunk.

Haha, I just finished Scarlet Return and my "Vermouth is the Boss's Daughter" theory seems to have some real merit now. Bourbon said "You're the boss's..." before Vermouth pointed a gun at his face.
Possible interpretations:
-The Boss's Favourite
-The Boss's Lover/Wife
-The Boss's Daughter
-The Boss's *insert theory here*

The anime's often been, more or less, a year behind the manga, so your guess may be on the mark. We'll likely hit 883 in September/October of 2017, and may have gotten the adaption of the case currently going on in the manga (969–971), by then.

About the Koji thing...
Spoiler:
I get why you did that. Considering how obvious it is that Shukichi's the middle brother, some have been longing for a twist. Some alternative theories have Shuichi/Subaru being the one Masumi is contacting for some cases via phone... this is one I can actually get behind, so I'm certainly up for listening to those theories. Problem is, there's now pretty rock solid evidence for Shukichi being the middle brother (besides the far more obvious things about his character, like his appearance).

Trust me, as a fellow fan-fic writer, I, too, have to change things as DC progresses—that's the thing about fan-fic writing for a series in progress. :)
I'm on the fourth chapter of Black Gambit...
Spoiler:
Wow, crap got real, here...

I'm still wondering who actually killed Ran...

Liked your use of a cousin of humanity—forget blood, they're out for everything you've got—and the use of a WHITE organization.

When I was reading Birthday Surprise, I saw a line about Yoko calling Shinichi/Conan and him saying he never gave her his number, and thought, "Well, she's BO." Now that she's the Boss, Shinichi/Conan can make ALL the jokes, now, at Kogoro's expense... :D
Will update when I finish it, but so far, so good.

The Tokyo Gentlemen's Club (919-920):

On a random note, I REALLY hope that Gosho Aoyama doesn't publish the "Shinichi and Ran meet Masumi ten years ago" case before I can write my version of it, because that'd screw up my entire series.

Whatever version of the "Shinichi and Ran meet the Akais" you have in mind, you can still go through with, because I think this was your distinct version of DC from the very start.
Spoiler:
After all, your series has Mary (or just MG, in this case) turn out to be the third Miyano child, who's actually a boy... and that's just one example of what you've done differently, with your version of DC.
In any case, the Shinichi/Ran/Masumi flashback will probably be a 4-5 file case, which mean the case will last into October (I'd say the third week of October is as far as the case could last). Provided you can get the first chapter out before September 10th (when 972's text spoilers come out), I think you'll be fine.

Apologies for the double post.

Finished Black Gambit and every story that followed.
Spoiler:
Gotta say, Shinichi/Conan at the end of the Gentleman's Club... he's sounding, and with your choice of words... well... borderline villainous (like he's angry that they're even trying to make a connection). Was that your intent? Are you going to have him turn out to be in the wrong, here, by keeping them in the dark and thinking he's right to do so? After all, his secret-keeping from Ran didn't save her at all.

Plus, there's Elena turning out to be behind Ran's murder... and yet she's the one making all these stipulations about how no one can know that Ran lives, and that governments would abuse these life-giving drugs, all the while having a darker agenda... are the schemers and deceivers (and to a lesser degree, I'm putting Shinichi/Conan in this category) going to answer for what they've done, by the end of this? Because there's just this eager righteousness in all this lying and wrongdoing (even on Shinichi's/Conan's part (again, to a lesser degree)).

Kogoro and Eri getting back together is nice. :) Them not figuring out Shinichi/Conan is one thing, but Ran/Nancy? There's no way they can be kept in the dark for good.

Masumi's seven classmates, huh? Shinichi/Conan would be one... barring OCs, that leaves Ran, Sonoko, Makoto, Heiji, Kazuha, Kaito, Aoko, Saguru and Akako.

Spoiler:
1. The "villainous Conan" thing is something I only recall happening at the end of the two-parter where Nancy was introduced. If that's what you meant, he wasn't necessarily angry but he's absolutely determined that they don't find out. As Black Gambit demonstrated, his obsession with protecting Ran will always override his sense of morality whenever the two things conflict.
2. Elena doesn't really have a "darker agenda", but she regards her mission (to save the human race) as far more important than the lives of individuals. That being said, Elena is not a bad person; she knows that what she's doing is wrong, and she would act like a decent human being if she could afford that luxury.
3. As for Kogoro and Eri seeing through Nancy, while you'd think it'd be such an obvious conclusion for them to reach, you must realise that de-aging is not possible with any real world technology, and that the de-aging pill which exists in the Detective Conan universe has only been heard of by a few people. Furthermore, like you've read, they don't have any pictures to go by so they have to rely on their memories of what young Ran looked like.
4. None of Masumi's "classmates" are OCs. I'll give you a hint, though: Detective Koshien.
I hope you enjoyed reading it!

I did! ;D
Spoiler:
Except when he's about to straight-up murder Gin after days of insisting to everyone that he's gonna do it.

Perhaps I shouldn't have used "darker." But she does have her own agenda. How convenient, that murder isn't really murder when you have resurrection pills—at least, that's probably what she'd say. Under that pretext, you can kill again and again and say it's all part of your "ends justify the means" plan, whatever it may be. All I can say is that this way of approaching things has to end as soon as possible, so it doesn't drag out, and more individuals are threatened who are not willing to sacrifice themselves, be they innocent (Ran) or otherwise (Numabuchi), even leading to the point where the person behind the curtain (Elena) doesn't become desensitized or corrupted by the tidal wave of death and misery. Ah, prophecies... perhaps the events they describe play out, or don't, because of our actions, and those of our forebearers and ancestors—humanity, thus, decides its destiny. A single person, driven by will and zeal (even by hearing some prophecy), can make the world... or break it.

Gotten philosophical enough for you? ;)

But there's only so many times you can see kids who just happen to look like yours and her friend and pass it off as coincidence... especially in a world where a corpse hits the floor every time you take one of them with you. There has to be a desire to block the truth—to be in denial... like Ran was letting denial get the best of her whenever she was not overtly suspecting Conan of being Shinichi (like the entirety of the Bourbon arc—just check out Detective Conan The Red Thread Facebook page to find a list of examples of Ran subconsciously suspecting that Conan is Shinichi). It's not gonna take much for Kogoro and Eri to stop being in denial—who knows what could happen, as your version of DC progresses. They could have a moment like Ran had in Chinatown Déjà Vu (347–349/284–285), or a moment like Shinichi/Conan had in Swimsuit Festival (969–971). In any case, I'll wait and see what you have in store, on that score.

So that gives us 5—Shinichi/Conan, Heiji, Saguru, Natsuki and Junya. That leaves two empty slots.

Eh, I'd say living with what she's done (no matter how noble her intentions) is punishment, enough. Are you really going to put Shiho/Ai through this again, except worse (impact, I know)? Will Atsushi be joining her, too? Heck, what's he been doing?

If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

Spoiler:

And yes, in my grand finale Elena is going to die.
I did! ;D

Spoiler:
Except that in the end he chooses not to kill Gin, even though the blond psychopath ends up dying anyway.

If it's any consolation, Elena doesn't really make a habit of doing what she did in Black Gambit. And there is a scientific explanation behind the "prophecy" which keeps getting mentioned.

Those are indeed 5 of the seven classmates. The other two are Kaito and Shiho. Now, none of these seven people (or Ran, who was also there) remember what happened on that day, or of meeting each other on that day. Only Masumi remembers. Elena Miyano was behind what happened on that day.

Atsushi has been busy working on something that will null Yoko's plan (which the White Organisation predicts will eventually be chosen over the Council's plan). Both of them will die. But if it's any consolation, Shiho, Akemi, and Satoshi will be finally reunited as a family at the end.

One reason that I disliked Black Gambit was because of its excessively dark tone. I'm trying to move away from that now.
