Alternate Bourbon Arc

I was considering writing an alternate introduction/climax for the Bourbon arc, based on an idea Chekhov had where instead of the whole Scar Akai/Bank Robbery situation, things would get going with a number of undercover FBI agents from the Kir fiasco currently in Japan were going missing/turning up dead, Jodie, James and Andre would get concerned and begin to investigate, along with Conan and the gang. Toru and Masumi would be along as well, but their roles would be decidedly different. This would've been a way for me to channel the frustration of those who were disappointed with the way the actual arc had played out.
However, after the non-reaction to the Yoko as Vermouth manga pages I commissioned, as well as a non-Conan project I put a lot of work into. I'm a little disheartened to the point where I don't think I should go through with it.

I enjoyed that piece you commissioned—I probably should have said so.
I recommend you should read this article,
http://thewritepractice.com/de/no-one-reading/, not because it's an exact fit of your situation, but for the overall message.
Don't give up—that's all I can say.

when it comes to the Bourbon Arc, I can agree that there was a lot of room for special events to take place but overall, I'm pretty satisfied by how it ended(or concluded to be more specific),...but as for the Yoko-as-vermouth manga, I enjoyed that one(I enjoy everything related to vermouth), I might not have said anything because I thought it was still under progress, please don't give up on that one!

I wasn't.
That part of the Yoko story may have been over, but I was thinking of doing another interstitial piece sort of like the Halloween case, but the lack of feedback everywhere I put it, plus pi**ing away $130 on it, turned me off.
DCUA, as kind as your advice is, that doesn't work for me. I've put up with that stuff elsewhere on the web, plus in RL for a long while now. I'd rather choose the "quit" option in that scenario.

Yeah... how stupid of me to not realize that you spent money on it.

It's a good thing you're making the choice you want to—no sense doing it if you see quitting as a preferable option.
By the way, do you have some kind of outline on how the story would go? If so, how specific is it, and would you consider sending it to me? I might want to make something out of it... I've edited/written fanfics for the past few years, now, but never posted them... time to think it over, again. I've got plenty of faults when it comes to writing fanfics, but it would be interesting to see what I could do with that kind of scenario. If you have no outline, then I suppose I'll start from scratch.
Either way, though, I want to thank you for inspiring me to take this up. I don't know how long it'll take—knowing me, quite a while—but we'll see how it goes!

It's alright.
No, that's okay. At this point, I may as well write it myself, since I'm very protective of ideas I think up. Plus, forgive me for being selfish, but if you get the praise for something I was going to run with, it would make me even angrier.

I generally keep the fanfics I write to myself, but, yeah—even if I credited you, you'd still be getting the shaft, so to speak. You don't need to apologize for being selfish—I should be the one to apologize for undoubtedly coming off as ultra-presumptuous in my last comment. Your concerns, here, are perfectly legitimate and understandable—it's when somebody's
overly selfish that I get concerned... but my definition of what overly selfish is is a completely different conversation.
Disregard the last part of my last comment, then. Best of luck, and...

well done really!! I could picture manga/anime scenes of this case while reading it(that's how much it felt like the real deal)... I usually don't read fanfic(because I'm lazy when it comes to reading long paragraphs of text) but this is totally worth it!
let's see who can finish the arc first....your BOURBON ARC VS my VERMOUTH ARC!

Thanks SO MUCH, Meitantei!
Yes, it's a pretty conscious decision on my part when I write fanfics to make them seem as much like an actual story with as little Mary-Suing/Author preference as possible.
Nah, you go on ahead. More people will follow your stuff anyway.
