works of mine

Post by krystal.glass »

So there's like one thing in this world I can do somewhat properly, and I happen to love it...

Writing.

So this is a small (I mean, really, really, really small) fan fiction, dedicated to Miyano Akemi, one of Gosho's characters I happen to like a lot. It's really short, because well, fan fiction isn't really my thing - I do novels and poems more - but I happened to just like this one. I wrote it like at least a year ago, and i just stumbled upon the file in my laptop, and thought I'd post it here; please comment. I know it's short but I appreciate any comments, criticism (constructive), heck, even flames are good.

I don't know why, but I sort of uploaded it as a .pdf file (I realize I could've just copied and pasted, because believe me, it's very, very short) : http://www.mediafire.com/?f2hmzrltpv4

I might post more of my stuff here, and I didn't want to start a new topic every time I did that.. so I left the topic open.

Oh, expect a music video sometime soon (as in, as soon as I upload it :D).

Thx  :)

Omg this is sad ;A;!  You should put warning labels or something!  *sniff*

Lol but putting it in a PDF is so much cooler, so pro xD.  I'm curious did you post this on FF.net as well?

Novels and poems?  Wow your writing must be amazing O:!  I hope you post more stuff!!!!  I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE AMV <3!!

thx so much for the comment :D am so glad you liked it

And yeah, sorry it's sad. I've written three short Fan fictions for Detective Conan, and somehow all of them turned out tragic. I mean, I usually do write some tragic stuff, but my novels do have happy endings xD

ah I don't have an FF.net account. Surprising, maybe? But I already said, I don't do fan fictions so much.

Haha, my writing is okay. People do say they like it though, so I am proud of it. After all, it's my only specialty.

But until then, I guess this is also okay? I wrote this poem a long time ago.. more than a year and a half ago. It's Kaito/Aoko centric, and I was bored. Based on the small clippet from Ep. 219 when Kaito shows after the Clock Tower incident; This is ten years after the present time line, I guess.

Picture

[Kaito]

There are four hundred thoughts
captured in a picture

There we were- ten years ago
Somehow it seems too close
No candle light- just the moon
A flower between me and you

And I remember I was happy to see you face
Light up with a smile, locked in my gaze
I want to tell you, you're my angel

Between us, a plain red rose
No diamond good enough to replace your eyes
I would've stolen, but it'd never be good enough
I would've lied, but the truth was more tempting
So I just told you my four hundred thoughts.

[Aoko]

There are four hundred thoughts
captured in a picture

I look at us- ten years ago
Do you remember?
Under the simple moonlight
When all went wrong,
Only that rose seemed right

Just a plain red rose between us
My eyes meet yours, remembering that day
We'd first met
Under the same sky
You're still here, my white prince

Just a plain red rose between us
Every petal tells the story of the years
Your eyes sparkle with that childish joy
No lies- just the moment of truth
I would've lied and yelled at you
I would've lied and fooled myself
But I was too happy
So I just told you my four hundred thoughts.

UPDATE: And here we have the AMV...

Title: No Where To Go
Tribute: Detective Conan :: Haibara Ai
Song: Evanescence, "Where Will You Go"
Thanks to: All subbing groups for the videos! Majorly kaizou-fansubs, I think, for the 200's episodes, and kaze no koe as well.

Also, this AMV is well over a year and a half old xD so I have squat from newer episodes (don't think there were many that were even Haibara centric, so no problems there...)

Download it here: (26 mb)

Your work is so pwettyful!!!

But it seems to have a sad undertone ;_;.

I wish I can write as well, what a wonderful skill to have ^^.

*grabs tissue box for AMV, just incase*

Is that Evanescence?

Your timing is excellent.  I love how you chose most of my fav moments!  Dramatic x3.

Poor Ai-chan T_T.

I'm so sick of speaking words that no one understands.  Is it clear enough that you can't live your whole life all alone.  I can hear you in a whisper but you can't even hear me screaming...

Oh geeze you got that part in my head now.  Not the most dramatic part of your AMV, but I loveee that part.  The timing and scenes used for that is so perfect <3.

Maybe less filters at the beginning would be better :).  Awesome work!

;D ;D ;D thank you, thank you, thank you again for the comments. Always appreciated.

"pwettyful"... hmm this is the first time someone has used that word to describe anything that I've done.
I mean it. Thanks.

If you are referring to "Picture" about the 'sad undertone', I can sort of see why. Some lines do give away thoughts of slight regret/reminiscence, but it's ideally a 'memory' poem, where both are either together, married, or still very close friends in the future realm, and they are reflecting on their good days, and how they're happy they still have each other in their lives. This is indicated by the "you're still here, my white prince" line.

The theme is the essence of Kaito/Aoko relationship... their lack of expressing their feelings directly (which seems the problem for most of Detective Conan's couples, ne?) and how at last, they had somehow 'broken through' and they told each other the truth (i.e their four-hundred thoughts). It's been a while since I looked at this poem, so that's all I can really say about it now.

---

As for the AMV, thank you, because my most effort was in timing and finding all the best Haibara moments. When you have three-hundred to four-hundred episodes, that becomes hard. xD

The song seemed so perfect for Haibara, and yeah, it's also a little saddening, but since we all know Haibara has found a new life with our favorite Hakase and the Shounen Tantei-dan, I'm thinking it's okay.

Haha, I know those two lines were really nice. Those are among those lines, y'know, that indicated that "this is a Haibara song!!!" Like, "you can't escape the truth", or "you can't reject the whole world" which she tries to do quite a lot in the beginning...

Apologies for the beginning, but since i had all the other parts and their timings planned out, I had no idea what to throw in there. So, since it was after all, the beginning of the AMV, I placed in Haibara's first entrance in Detective Conan as the starter.

--

Anyways, thanks for your input kirite, it's very, very, very much appreciated :D

I'm thinking the next one I'll put up here is my (also really old) Heiji/Kazuha AMV, but that'll have to wait because I need to edit it a little :P

For now, I guess I'll wait for more comments? Yes, I do love 'em :D

Akemi's story is really sad. After reading your work, it made me think what if's. What if Akai told her the truth? Wouldn't it be less sadder for her because she knows he's using him to get to BO? What if Akemi told him that she knew? She loved him so, so she let him use her to get to them. It's so sad. She could at least have told Shiho something, Haibara wouldn't be so scared about Akai. She feels something when he's close by, maybe because in her heart she knew that this man used her sister to get to them. Haha well I think this comment is melodramatic so I'll stop now. I'm still lagging from watching ep513-514, such a sad case...

Anyway nice works! Keep it up. Hope to see more  ;D

yeah, I know.... man I didn't think it was too sad (because I've written sadder, believe it or not) but now you're all making it seem like murder xD

Umm but yeah, the story itself was born from 'what if's' and my thoughts on what Akemi felt, believed... I really don't think she was as naive as portrayed... I mean, she did manage to figure out "Dai" was FBI...

Tis okay... most of those sad cases really do get to ya... 513~514 ... was really, really sad...

Ah back to this, thx for the comment, kat... much appreciated :D

And here we have it, my other Detective Conan AMV:

http://www.mediafire.com/?m5mlmmxj1fo

----

Title: Connected
Tribute to: Detective Conan :: Heiji & Kazuha
Song: Sincerely ~Ever Dream~
Artist: Dream

Size: ~34 MB
File type: .zip
Thanks to: All fan subbers, of course, for bringing Detective Conan to us!

----

Umm regarding the few scenes from 222~224, yeah, as you could probably tell they aren't from the version that DCTP subbed (because when I made this AMV, that version hadn't come out) nor from the Yami subbers version (because that hadn't come out, either). I didn't bother replacing the scenes mainly because in the DCTP released special remastered version, a couple scenes were edited out in production and, well, I was too lazy. Taking out the scenes and getting the timing right is a pain :P and also, I can't find the original edit-able files anyway.

The song had some nice lyrics, I thought it went well with Heiji/Kazuha... and I did a Japanese song because it seemed to fit them better than an English one. "Connected" comes from the line in the song,
mou ichidou omoidashite hoshi, boku tachi wa donna ni tooku demo, tsunagatte iru koto
which I literally translate as "I'd like you to remember once more that the two of us, no matter how far apart, are connected."

It happens to be my favorite line, too :D and it fits Heiji/Kazuha perfectly, their omamori playing a great role.

----

Reviews, please?
Merci.

Omg Kazuji!!  I lovee this couple >__<!  Though Heiji is such an idiot sometimes and I just want to punch him in the face (not that I would ever do that, the fangirls would throw me in to a fire, plus Heiji's face is so sexy I can never hit it  :'().

*Ahem*  right, with that aside, let's talk AMV

I absolutely love the beginning of this one.  The cherry blossoms with the music just works!  It's (still) amazing how you time the head turns, the smiles, and the scene changes to the music.

Weird part is probably the rainbow filter part, that confused me xD.

Lyrics wise, I think you chose a really nice song.  How you try to match the scenes to the lyrics is lovely.  The meeting with the meeting, the longing with the longing.  Ahh...I almost forgot how expressive the eyes were in that movie.

Scene change at like 1:27 is soooo cool.  I love it!  I don't usually like such flashy types of transitions because it really breaks flow but you used this one perfectly :).

Of course the "mou ichidou omoidashite hoshi, boku tachi wa donna ni tooku demo, tsunagatte iru koto" has the cutest scene ever xD.

Extremely perplexing rainbow-ish filter here but now that I watch it again, it's okay because it doesn't last very long.

"You know you've been quiet for a while.  That's not like you."

OMG I love it when the subs are to complement the lyrics!  I noticed you do that a lot, for the last AMV too.  Usually I don't like subs in my amvs but when you use it like that it's awesome x3.

Smiling Heiji with sparkling background is so lol xD. It cracks me up everytime.

I'm surprised you didn't make the cliff part at  "yume wo kanaeru tame ni gisei ni natta mono".  But then I guess it's too good to use at such a small verse.

Again I love the cool transition <3!!  Eeee~

Ahh here's cliff part <3  BEST KAZUJI SCENE EVER!

Ahh...there is this clip of Ran talking, I'm really surprise to see Ran in this AMV o_o.

And err nothing much to say aside from awesome ending xD!  Dammit Heiji is such an ahou.

Hope you like this review and de rien.

:D :D :D :D

Thank you sooo very, very much for your great review :D am so happy.

when i first associated the song with the thought of makin an amv, the scene of Heiji/Kazuha cherry blossoms just came to my min like a pop-up :P it worked out better than I expected. Believe me, the scenes do much more work than I do ever.

thx, again, because perfect timing, ultimately, is what I work hardest to achieve. It's never hard for me to associate a song with a person/a couple, and so all that's really left to worry about is timing. And you're totally right. When the scenes have subtitles, I make sure that they fit with the lyric some way or another, otherwise... well, out they go xD

Oh, and that particular transition is my favorite (at 1:27, glass breaking) and it always works with songs that have a breaking-in sound for when they get into chorus. It's the only flashy transition I like, too

on the cliff scene being the best Heiji/Kazuha scene ever, I totally agree. That's precisely why I added it at the second chorus/climax. It's, I think, a pinnacle: she's ready to die for him; he'll never let anything hurt her while he's with her.

Umm.. as for Ran.. yeah, I felt the need to include both her and Shinichi.. y'know cameo, kind of. They're the couple's best friends, after all. And rainbow filter... i felt like experimenting with that effect.. never changed it after that. The scene was a random one, too; was too lazy to pick a different one

Yesh, Heiji is the ahou-est ahou in the world :P

And once again, thank you very much for your review. You've no idea how much I appreciate it :D can't even be expressed.

Unfortunately, nothing else comes to mind for me to upload now, so I guess I'll look out for more comments on the four already posted. Thank you, again :D

Are your AMVs on youtube by any chance? I won't be downloading anything for a while so it would be nice to be able to watch it from a site instead.

Post by krystal.glass »

well unfortunately, I don't, because I never felt it really worth it. I'll probably maximum put up like three videos and that's the end of it, since I don't seem to have time it anymore *sigh* In between my writing and school, meh, life leaves me with very little time (it's a miracle I find time to write, even) xD Why is that so? I have no idea. (and part of me's too lazy because I know if I start an AMV, I won't stop until I feel it's as good as it can get, and that usually sucks a considerable amount of time)

But, since I happen to have a gmail id, I guess it's ok to get a YouTube account?

I'll update again here when I've uploaded whatever videos I feel are worthy :P and then, I you can enjoy them. And by the way, thanks much for your inputs till now, Kirite. If I do another AMV sometime soon, you'll be first to know ;)
