But something that was a little bothering me ; Akai's skin color is a little tanned in the anime, right? But Okiya's skin is white..

I think this can be diagnosed as a minor case of anime-messes-it-up-itis. People who usually have perma-bags under their eyes have pale skin, so Gosho probably intended him to be pale from the start.

yes, it's the eyes. When Gosho will draw Okiya with his eyes open, we'll see he has the same eyes as Akai

Anyways, I was watching that really long arc (lol) where Akai 'dies' and I realized that it's kinda similar to this arc in a few ways. There's Eisuke finding out about his sister (like Sera), the BO are involved, a murder case is thrown in, and Akai is involved in one shape or form....

Maybe it's kind of connected...?

Being the mysterious lady as yukiko and okiya was with her on the train, maybe yukiko was the one who made the mask of akai (okiya)..

But I don't think Okiya's wearing a mask since Ran kicked his face and there wasn't anything as a mask covering Okiya's face. Plus if you look closely Okiya resembles Akai. But maybe yeah Yukiko was the one who suggested to Okiya/Akai that he had to wear glasses and a wig (or dyed and straighten his hair) (but I'd prefer it to be a wig)

I don't know about the manga though how was Takagi (did his skin color changed?). but the thing is Akai.. he'll have the same color skin as Okiya if he ever reappears because I doubt he had put powder on his body/face.. -_-

Once you spend enough time with Conan, it's really hard to not catch onto the clues that Gosho puts out because of the formula at use. When there's a main plot clue, they're usually quite clearly out of the ordinary (out of the ordinary being something outside of the weekly cases), and as a result things become quite easy to put together on that front. When we spend ten weeks without a hint of plot and then there's a sudden mention of a certain trait of Okiya for example, your mind will instantly go over every possible connection that could have, etc etc.

It wouldn't make sense if he were one of the major characters so I guess he will either be a passenger or what I think is more likely one of the attendants.

Isn't it always the other way around? Meaning, when Yusaku is there, Yukiko is there too, but Yukiko is often seen alone, isn't she?

I don't think Ran ever hit okiya's head: he was in "falling back" position before ran kick could reach him. As matter of fact, ran was feeling weird about it. Now, whenever Ran kicks & punches reach the target, she never had the same feeling as this case, which would most likely suggest Okiya wasn't trying to resist and so he might have fallen back on purpose.
