"in order to make him seem suspicious".

So which role do you think Wakita plays in the story?
[ ] Yonehara = Rum
[ ] Kuroda = Amuros Boss
[x] MG = Mrs. Akai
[x] Haneda = Brother Akai
[ ] Rumi = Asaka
[ ] Wakita = Bo-Member Whiskey

I think Wakita is very high ranking member in BO. Don't think he is Rum, however.
If you read my post about a new resolution of the Haneda Kouji case, you will see what role Wakita can play in the story: https://www.reddit.com/r/OneTruthPrevai ... alternate/

I don't know but I absolutely don't think he's Rum.

Break until the 29th? Wasn't it supposed to be until November 15th ? :/

At no point did we get some sort of indication that it's supposed to come back on the 15th. All we knew is that it's not back on this week (49th issue) and it's not listed for the 50th issue either. That led to the possibility it may come back on the 15th, but today Shonen Sunday's website posted a message that it's going to come back on the 29th.

So while waiting for the next File, I took some free time trying to analyze Case File 1006.
Spoiler:
Summary:
Haibara & co. (without Conan) headed for Maria's house since Kobayashi-sensei mentioned that she didn't show up to class today for some reason. From what we knew so far, Maria is a newly-transfered student from Kansai region based on her accent (Files 548+549), both her parents work full time and her late grandmother used to live in the house across the street (File 1006). Maria told Ayumi the day before that her deceased grandma left her a note for her little treasure hunt in her grandma's house. The kids did find out where her house is, but they didn't see Maria. After examining the collapsed bookshelf in the study, they figured Maria did something before the earthquake hit around noon.
Meanwhile, Subaru couldn't get out of the house due to the press blocking at the gate for Shinichi's information. Conan and Prof. Agasa were more or less in the same situation. Rumi was curious about Shinichi; she left after asking Haibara for more info about Kudo's house before the kids went to Maria's place. Kobayashi-sensei promised the kid to go after them as soon as she finished her work.
There are several details I noticed :
- The last time Maria's parents saw her was when she finished her breakfast (based on Kobayashi-sensei's words), indicating Maria went to school without the parents' guidance. This can mean either she often goes to school on her own or she has someone else to go with her, preferably a family maid/helper.
Image
- Assuming they are good parents, letting a first grader goes to school without their guidance and if by herself can mean that the school isn't far from where Maria lives. Haibara mentioned a big earthquake happened while they were still at school and figured it also affected Maria's location. Another supporting hint is that Kobayashi-sensei let the Detective Boys head for Maria's house before her, which means they can arrive there in a short time.
Image
- Maria's house is considerably big, indicating she has rich family background, or her parents work in high positions. After all, they could afford such a place near Maria's grandmother's house in Tokyo - the world-famous expensive city. My take is that Maria's parents also bought the house for her grandma when they got transfered to Tokyo because of work, seeing as Maria was born and raised in Kansai region for such a long time that she developed Kansai accent before moving to Tokyo.
- Maria's grandma didn't live alone before she passed away, or I should say, there's someone else lives grandmother's house. Three hints : the shoe rack/closet has too many pairs for just one person; the bedroom has two beds and the fact that someone needs to keep an eye on Maria while she's doing her treasure hunt, just like how Prof. Agasa did in Files 111-113. Plus, if Maria's parents work full-time, they will need a helper to maintain their household and take care of her grandma.
- Maria encountered something unexpected in the morning, resulted in her absence. After all, she promised Ayumi to invite the Detective Boys to her treasure hunt the day before. Considering Maria is a shy and sensitive child, she wouldn't skip school, lie to her new friends and run off by herself.
Image
- There are signs suggesting something is wrong :
1. The grandma house's door isn't locked, but apparently there's nobody home for quite some time. If there was, Maria's backpack wouldn't be left at the hallway, and there wouldn't be such a scene in the study.
2. The big mirror's windows in the bedroom are closed. If Maria did do the treasure hunt, she would leave them opened.
3. Maria's shoes are at the hallway, indicating she hasn't left the house since her visit in the morning for some reason.
4. The note in the study appears to be peeled off from some place. Also, the first two notes and the big arrow have tapes in several corners, but this note doesn't.
Image
- Subaru and Conan are stuck for the time being, meaning the Detective Boys don't have anyone to protect them from potential dangers. Kobayashi-sensei was supposed to go and look after them so I doubt that Rumi planned to tag along instead of visiting Kudo's house.
- Assuming Kobayashi-sensei noticed Maria wasn't in class and consulted her parents shortly after the roll call in the morning, yet both of her parents weren't home to look for their daughter when the Detective boys arrived, it's likely that they already had an idea of where she could be.

I can imagine up to three scenarios from these details but I'd like to hear your opinions first.

I mean, that's pretty normal for children that age to go to school alone, especially in Japan. You don't ever see the DB getting brought to school or picked up on the way back either. Even if her parents wouldn't both be working, I'd never expect them to walk their child to school.

Kokuriko wrote:- Maria's house is considerably big, indicating she has rich family background, or her parents work in high positions.

Does it? I mean, sure, it is a house and not some flat, so that's something, but from the outside it looks like a fairly standard and compact two floor house that you see rather often. From a rich family background or parents working in high positions, I'd at least expect something on the level of the Kudo mansion, if not more.

Kokuriko wrote:Haibara mentioned a big earthquake happened while they were still at school and figured it also affected Maria's location.

Uh, they didn't figure that, not really. They believed for one page that she might be stuck under the shelf for one page, but that's about it.

Kokuriko wrote:- Maria's grandma didn't live alone before she passed away, or I should say, there's someone else lives grandmother's house.

Sure. How about the grandfather?

Kokuriko wrote:the fact that someone needs to keep an eye on Maria while she's doing her treasure hunt, just like how Prof. Agasa did in Files 111-113

How Agasa did it is one thing, but scavenger hunts are also commonly played without supervision from the creators, with the participants returning to the creator afterwards. It's definitely not a fact that someone has to keep an eye on Maria while solving the quiz.

Kokuriko wrote:2. The big mirror's windows in the bedroom are closed. If Maria did do the treasure hunt, she would leave them opened.

An earthquake, which was "rather big" according to Haibara, should be enough to make the mirror doors close on their own again.

Kokuriko wrote:4. The note in the study appears to be peeled off from some place. Also, the first two notes and the big arrow have tapes in several corners, but this note doesn't.

Yes, it was stuck on a book, as we see in the previous panel. And the one who peeled it off was Mitsuhiko most likely, since he noticed it first. (Yes, someone else could've peeled it off before and put it back on the book, but Mitsuhiko had to peel it off as well).

Kokuriko wrote:Kobayashi-sensei was supposed to go and look after them

Why the past tense? As far as we know, that's still Kobayashi's plan, to come there after she wraps up her work for the day.

Can i give you one important thing?

Conan is the most anime that stop releasing episode in every year, amd when the episode released l, we see that the episodes are really very very sugoku boring sugoku tsumaranai; then why the mister Ghoso always want us to wait for weeks until releasing the episodes rven if they are boring?

I know that all anime writers need breaks from time to time but become reach the Guinness World Records as the most anime that stop monthly, but also the episodes are really very awful.

So why he always want us to wait for nothing?

1. This is discussion about the manga, not the anime. Gosho creates the manga, he doesn't write the anime adaptation.
2. There are actually people enjoying this series and the stuff that gets released, so the thing about waiting for nothing is just a thing for you and people who don't enjoy the series.
3. Gosho is far away from being the mangaka with the most breaks. He takes more than breaks the average mangaka, but he has also been working on the series for almost 24 years and he doesn't get younger. And again, there are mangaka who take longer and more frequent indefinite hiatus'.

Nice answer, i can feel the frustrating that you had from me for my answer. I can feel it from the ways that you write.

Anyway, he didn't made any progress afyer the episode 450, so i do disagree with you. I didin't say that he should not take breaks ny tome to time but this anime all month should stop one week or two weeks at least and for nothing. He os the mangaka and from the manga the episodes comes so when i will wait the episodes that really awful from the manga so the reason the mister ghoso who really doesn't know what he is doing.

But if there are people who wait for nothing such us me, and then people who not enjoy the story, then we alao can say our opinion as long as there are anime that we see

So i hope that you will answer next answer in much nicer manner than before; because if you angered from my post before, then i am also angered from you behaviour manner in last answer

Yeah I know that. Just want to state the first obvious thing I noticed. In Maria's case, considering she's a shy kid and recently got transfered to a new place, new neighborhood, I feel that her going to school by herself is something I should put in mind. That's all.
Serinox wrote:Does it? I mean, sure, it is a house and not some flat, so that's something, but from the outside it looks like a fairly standard and compact two floor house that you see rather often. Isn't Kudo mansion a bit too luxurious, on top of having a classic, vintage feel to it ? It may have some historical values as well. I don't live in Japan so I don't know how often you can see these kinds of houses in the neighborhood. I only know the 1LDK/2LDK apartments and condos and such. My point is, Maria's parents could afford such a (big and nice IMO) house with a garden on top of being near Maria's grandma's place after moving to an expensive & populous city (but not a spacious one), that's quite something in my mind.
Serinox wrote:Uh, they didn't figure that, not really. They believed for one page that she might be stuck under the shelf for one page, but that's about it.

I meant only Haibara in my original comment though. And I was talking about the page with the knocked-over cosmetic items, not the bookshelf. And yeah, just another may-be/may-not-be important detail. After all multiple earthquakes can happen around the same time in Japan. But for Haibara to quickly bring up the earthquake while they were at school, and parents normally let their children enroll in nearby schools, it's possible that Maria's house locates in somewhere close to the school.
Serinox wrote:Sure. How about the grandfather?

Sure. Grandfather / aunt / uncle / cousin / distant relatives / caretakers / family helpers, etc. I only know that there's another person living in grandma's house. And that person is missing, leaving the door unlocked, Maria's bag in the hallway,... I highly doubt that a person with a sloppy lifestyle can take care of an elder though.
Serinox wrote:How Agasa did it is one thing, but scavenger hunts are also commonly played without supervision from the creators, with the participants returning to the creator afterwards. It's definitely not a fact that someone has to keep an eye on Maria while solving the quiz.

I see. I didn't play scavenger hunts when I was a little kid so I don't have much experience. Just simply putting myself in the parents' shoes, like not wanting to see the kids getting hurt or getting lost or getting bored/losing motivation during the hunts, or something like that. There are parents/guardians acting like that, right ? And I'm not talking about the over-protective ones.
Serinox wrote:An earthquake, which was "rather big" according to Haibara, should be enough to make the mirror doors close on their own again.

Maybe, maybe not. The doors look heavy from supporting the mirrors. Again, simply a minor detail I mind, but thank you for your input.
Serinox wrote:Yes, it was stuck on a book, as we see in the previous panel. And the one who peeled it off was Mitsuhiko most likely, since he noticed it first. (Yes, someone else could've peeled it off before and put it back on the book, but Mitsuhiko had to peel it off as well).

I doubt it. From the look of both the note's and the book's positions, I think the note simply landed on the book, instead of being stuck to it, compared to how neatly aligned the other notes were attached to the other spots. Well I may be wrong, it's just that particular note's position bugged me a bit (not an OCD's symptom, probably) so I immediately thought it was stuck to something else at first.
Serinox wrote:Why the past tense? As far as we know, that's still Kobayashi's plan, to come there after she wraps up her work for the day.

Sorry about that. It's a grammatical error.

I believe that nothing serious is gonna happen to Maria. There is no murder in this case after the Tengu rampage after all. What I am more curious about is if Maria can reveal some shocking connection at all. But again, judging from her character as a filler role I doubt there's anything from her anyway...but it's interesting to see that we can be proven wrong.

So basically it sounds like you predict this file to be just another filler episode that leads to nowhere. Well, that would be a bad tactic to take for leaving your manga fans with nothing but more frustration in waiting for the plot to progress after taking such a long break. But then again, we could all blame it on RUM since the alcohol is the pirate's favorite drink, so ... ! ;D

About Kobayashi saying that she'll join the DB when she's finished, I have the feeling that she'll send Wakasa instead because of some reason that might come up. Well, that'd be more interesting like that xD.
