BO's opposite attitudes in dealing with the "Soul Detective case" and "Asaca song case."

Postby Zerozaki4869 » June 9th, 2017, 10:36 am

The soul detective murder case and the Asaca song case has been handled very differently by BO.

In the song case they did send Vermouth and Bourbon to investigate the stuff about why "C" being used instead of "K" in Asaka.

In the soul detective case Gin shows concern about Kogoro's involvement but gives two hoots about the information which Hotta supposedly had on Kohji case.

When Gin mentions the threat perception from Kogoro he uses the pronoun "we" and "us". So he's considering BO's interest as a whole, not his personal goals. When he says the Kohji case is Rum's headache then it means that Gin is confident that all the exposes would only incriminate Rum at a personal level but Bo's interest won't be hampered even if Rum is incriminated.
We're given subtle clues about the dying message in Kohji case, so BO/Gin is aware that the dying message will implicate Rum at a personal level only(like Rum's social name would be revealed but it won't reveal that Rum is the second in command of a criminal organization.)

Also if Asaka was being pursued by BO, then we would have seen some BO activity near Hotta, but we see none. We only see that it's Rum's headache and BO's interests won't be compromised by Hotta's revelations. Which forces me to conclude that Asaka has zero threat perception in BO's evaluation. Which in term allows me to think that BO is absolutely sure that Asaka won't be a threat to them and they are more interested in the dying message which revealed Rum's social name.

So either Asaka is confirmed dead beyond doubt(not unconfirmed like Shinichi's initial status) or Asaka is Rum's lackey so is ruled out as not a threat to BO.

Or Asaka is still on the run as stated in the manga and Rum is still chasing him/her and just lied about killing Asaka to the rest of the BO.
[ ] Yonehara = Rum
[ ] Kuroda = Amuros Boss
[x] MG = Mrs. Akai
[x] Haneda = Brother Akai
[ ] Rumi = Asaka
[ ] Wakita = Bo-Member Whiskey
[ ] Iori = just a butler

That can be another answer but the fact remains BO thinks Asaka isn't a threat anymore. BTW if Asaka's death in unconfirmed then I highly doubt that BO would buy Rum's lies.

It doesn't state that "Asaka" is still on the run, it only says Asaka is missing. Like missing in being dead, being returned back to BO after finishing the initial mission, left without a trace etc.

Here is my issue,

With hotta case, It seemed to me that the BO didn't learn about it until the end of the case, where the guy says Asuca is female.

After learning about hotta death on the news, having him being killed, and him claiming having clues about Koiji death that happened 17 years ago + Mouri's involvement, made Gin say what he said.

I believe that there is a big possibility that the Bo didn't know about Hotta until after his death was covered on the news, which could be the reason why they didn't make a move.

your thoughts ?

Well here is the counter, Vodka mentioned that "The guy who had claimed of having information on Kohji case was killed." and then Gin replied, "more than that I was interested in Kogoro's involvement." Gin used simple past tense, that means it's not that they had just gotten the info, they had the info that Kohji case was being dug up by Hotta and Kogoro was involved in it from quite sometime. This only proves Vodka might have missed it, but Rum/Boss won't have missed it.
If BO is so meticulous in tracking a song starting with a C instead of K, there's no reason to assume that they would miss on Hotta's moves.

Even if BO knew only after Kohji's death that the dead guy had info on Kohji case, still why Gin mentions it's only Rum's headache and doesn't bother to investigate it? Which indicates, the any info on Kohji case/Asaka is not a headache for BO, but possibly can be a headache of Rum and only Rum.

So any info on Asaka/Kohji case is only relevant to Rum but not to BO.
