BTW now will you make Ayanokoji also a spawn on of Tsutomu or Tsutomu himself, he has the same choice of suits you know.

So, obviously there is also more than one mouse in this story... BTW, did I remember correctly about a rumor that Rum is actually good chess player or good at playing chess? Or was I mistaken? ;D

If Shukichi is the Pikachuu, then is Tsutomu the rai-chuu?

Well, let me put out my unreasonable deduction this way...
Is Vermouth good looking?
Is Gin good looking?
Is Bourbon good looking?
Is Scotch good looking?
Is Rye good looking?
Is Kir good looking?
Is Sherry good looking?
If Vermouth receives special favors from the Boss due to her looks AND NOT because they are relatives by blood, then that probably means the boss has a taste for beauty or pretty-face.
Now, with that condition in mind while selecting your right-hand man that is number 2 to you that you probably have to meet on a regular basis, would you choose Tsutomu over Wakita or Iroi over Wakita if you were the boss? ;)

Heck, even Chianti has better looks than Wakita!

Anywho, something jimmy_kud0_tv2 pointed out to me.

Image

The takedowns in the Soul Detective case and the camping case are seemingly very similar.
Both suspects were thrown at the ground face first, with their hand pulled behind their backs.

Could be another low key visual hint, I suppose. (or could be a coincidence as well, if you're not buying into this theory I guess).

@blackmoon: I don't recall anything about RUM being a chess / shogi player, the only rumors we have is about his 3 descriptions and that he had an accident in which he lost one of his eyes.

Well this can mean only one thing. Kuroda and Mary's combat styles are same,(Getting their victims on the ground while twisting their hand over their back before neutralising them.) Maybe a better simile would be this. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/nui_S-3QRAU/maxresdefault.jpg

So if you really want to make a rational deduction then only it should come to your mind, (Kuroda and Mary are sort of Police, not secret police, not JKD practitioners, not Boxers, neither karateka)

I have another question (sorry for this, but I don't follow the manga, just the Rum-based cases) - Rumi was shown to look at the APTX list. Wouldn't this absolutely confirm that she's in some way related to the BO? I say this, because some people here write that she's a good person. Where would she get the APTX list from, then?

Yeah she has direct ties to BO that's for sure. How did she obtain it? There are some possible options below I think:

1. She's a spy from some organization (maybe MI6, since Bourbon's mentioned this agency before briefly). And given that Kazami has also appeared in manga after M20 as another PSB agent, maybe we could see one or two possible MI6 agents in Rum arc (the other one is most likely Mary). She could "hack" into their system, or simply get data from someone else in BO.

2. She's an ex-member of BO. This means she's BO's traitor and is on the run from them. She's probably Rum's target as far as things go.

3. Kinda overlapped with point 2, but she could be a former colleague of the Miyano parents. Working in the Biochem division can grant her access to the APTX list of the victims.

She had the aura, so she has to be a (former) BO-member, right?

Given this and the fact that she is most likely Asaka, this would mean Asaka=BO?

Yeah, well, I was just curious why the BO would be interested in hiring Itakura, a game designer, who was invovled and supposed to build a Shogi program for a sponsor, who invested twenty years worth of money and time, yet made no development throughout the years? Isn't it strange that the BO would come in contact with such a person? I mean there ought to be countless game designers that they could pick to help them, but why this particular game program developer that has some experience in Igo, Shogi, and Chess?

Following quoted from wiki:
Three game designers arrive at Kogoro's agency to ask for his assistance to look for their game system engineer, Suguru Itakura. He was last heard in a video mail which shows him in a hotel with an Igo, Shogi, and Chess set. One of the game producers believe that a mysterious man may be the cause of Itakura's disappearance; Conan realizes from his description the man is Tequila from the Black Organization. Kogoro decides to call hotels and ask them if anyone rented a Shogi, Chess, and Igo set at once. After learning of Itakura's hotel and room number, they enter the apartment only to find out Itakura had died of a stroke.

The three designers are: Katsumichi Sugai, Igo board game designer; Ryusuke Soma, Shogi board game designer; and Johei Naito, a chess game designer. While the police investigate, Conan attempts to steal a floppy disk containing Itakura's diary so he could investigate the Black Organization but to no avail. A forensic officer reveals that the body is missing a sock impression on the right ankle, this causes Conan to realize who the murderer is.

After tranquilizing Kogoro, Conan impersonates Kogoro and tricks Megure into copying Itakura's diary onto another floppy disk. He then afterward reveals that Itakura, while tied up, used his feet and moved the pieces on the Igo board to reveal who the murderer is. When the white pieces are ignored, the black pieces represent kanji characters in Braille and ultimately reveals that Ryusuke Soma is the culprit. As proof, Conan reveals that Itakura made the message on an Igo board since Soma is unfamiliar with Braille and would not recognize the strange patterns on the Igo board since he is not familiar with the game. As evidence, Conan reveals that there should be Itakura's fingerprints on Soma's watch. Soma confesses and reveals that he was angered that he invested twenty years worth of money and time into Itakura to build him a Shogi program, yet had made no development throughout the years.

Not much is known about the program that Suguru Itakura was creating under the order of the Black Organization, except that it was something Itakura stated he wouldn't want to complete for the sake of humanity. The incomplete program itself was stored inside a CD and left at Itakura's cottage, but was later acquired by Conan. However, the content of the CD and the reason why the organization ordered it was never discovered, as the program had been protected with password that only Itakura himself and the Black Organization know how to unlock. It was also programmed to block copying. At the moment the incomplete program is in the hands of the organization.

The aura happens with spies too, like Subaru (Akai) for example. Anyone who's been in BO can have that kind of aura that triggers Haibara's sense. Given the "fact" that she's most likely Asaka? How are you that sure she's Asaka, to call it a "fact"? I tend to think it's a red herring and she's made to be Asaka, to make people think of her as Asaka. Because she has the shogi piece with her, I'd say it's more reasonable that she's Kouji's lover, or probably sister? Either way, she's more like an avenger for Kouji's death by Rum ("prosthetic eye mention" triggered her in the past). Asaka is unknown, sure, you could say either way, but I don't think it's that easy to think that Rumi = Asaka, since most people call this out too easily. It can't be that straightforward, can it? I mean I think this is more like a bait from Gosho, similar to "Time is money" thing.

"Fact" was a kinda unlucky choice there.
Didnt meant it that way.

But I still agree with you on everything u wrote.
I cant see many different options besides her being Asaka or Kohjis sister/gf/wife.

In my eyes the red herring is Rumi = Asaka =(!!) Rum
and therefore only Rumi=Asaka is right.

So far I dont see any options left for the Asaka-position.
Rumi / Iori / Sakurako and thats pretty much it with the last two being superunlikely.
But maybe someone has an idea on that aswell.
