Spoiler:
I would like to add the danger to Jodie and Camel however is most likely real and those are agents working for Bourbon (Not sure if actual BO or some other organization) however that is where Akai will most likely turn up. Bonus points if Gosho has him place the call Bourbon ;D

Can someone explain to me how chapters come out? Going by this website, I don’t think we’re supposed to have chapters as far ahead as 895. Also at the raws website I follow, they’re only at 893. How are 894 and 895 around?

Edit: oh actually, 894 is out on that raws website now…

That... actually makes a lot of sense.
I provided a quick edit to my initial post to better explain my position, I honestly see that as part of the plan, here was my edit below:
Spoiler:
My Reasoning:

-Police/Detectives would not bunch up like that and practically give themselves and their positions away to someone they were tailing. (Unless its officer Sato...heh)

-BO members prefer to remain invisible and would not give themselves away so easily.

-Bourbons remark that those people are "Used to waiting outside" coincides with media/reporters etc.
I really like this theory... Gosho wouldn't let Amouro say such things (aka words) without a hidden meaning.

I got a “deduction” from re-reading ch.894 as a raw, this might be something that was obvious to others or maybe even wrong, but I’ll say it anyway.
Spoiler:
I’m reading the 894 raw now, and now I’m thinking that the fake death plan was all made up by Conan, and Akai’s last words are of a meaning “I can’t believe it worked this well”. Hearing that, Amuro in 894 thinks of Conan, which makes me think that he realizes that it wasn’t Akai’s plan from his words of disbelief, and deduces Conan made the plan.

I would be disappointed if the Akai fake death was all Conan's plan.I was expecting it to be akai's idea, considering his experience with the BO.

I’m quite surprised by this development myself to be honest, but that’s what Aoyama seems to be saying.

Yeah, that's pretty much what Amuro says in 895.

Yeah true, still sounds unbeliavable though.

More hints towards Conan playing everyone.

Conans characters haters must be a little salty right now... I love Amuro but I want to see Conan just show how it's done and start his counterattack.

Anyway I'm guessing Conan asked the police to help him this time since that group of people sort of seem familiar... I mean unless Gosho wants to show us that the BO (bad) is similar to the Conan side (good), like during the Heiji kendo case files, it's Heiji side of Conan... That would be nice but let's see what this is about... Is it a bluff from Amuro and they're cops, is it that Amuro is good and.. Wants to catch Akai if his life depends on it ... or is this something else.

I'm not doing any heavy lifting deductions for now because I want some time to think about stuff and gather info, but I do want to point out Jodie and Camel are at Raiha pass, based on the appearance of the surroundings. While Amuro did think that Akai snuck into Kir's car, there is a possibility he was wrong about that and Shuuichi jumped over the railing at a safe point a la Camel (and Sherlock's strategy at Reichenbach Falls). I do not think Jodie and Camel would be at Raiha pass without a plot reason. There is a distinct chance that they may try to bail over the side in the same place that Akai could have used.

Spoiler:
Agreed. To add on to this, that might be why Gosho had Amuro be mistaken about how exactly Akai escaped. If Amuro doesn't know that there is a safe way to jump off of Raiha Pass, then he wouldn't be aware that Jodie and Camel could possibly escape from where he has his assistants/friends holding them hostage. Theoretically Raiha Pass is the perfect place to hold them as there isn't an obvious way to escape..or so Amuro thinks. This'll probably be relevant next chapter.

Abut evilbit's theory: if it's true, than it's possible that Amuro knows that the Okiya he's talking to isn't the real one. I personally hope that's the case, and that Amuro has some other plan in mind to corner Akai. The reason is, from a plot perspective, Amuro can't really lose now. We're still approaching the climax of 900, Gosho can't really diffuse the tension and suspense now. Based on the next chapter's title, I'd say that Akai reveals himself in the end, setting off the chain of events that lead to 900. Either way, from her on out for a while it should purely be plot. Now that Gosho's started the confrontation, he can't really go back to normal cases.

I'm very pleased that Jodie figured out not only Akai's fake death but his real identity on her own- looks like she's back to how she was before Akai's death. To be honest I wasn't expecting Gosho to unveil the fake death plan like this, as a "case" of its own, and I certainly wasn't expecting the FBI to figure out Akai'd fooled them on their own. Not complaining, I really like the way Gosho chose to do it instead. Now that Akai's secret is out with his own colleagues, things should really come to a climax soon.

Spoiler:
I agree,I really hope that Amuro knows he's not talking to the right person...that would be too easy for conan's team to fool Amuro with a deguise.I'm expecting more from Amuro, and we need a real confrontation with Akai.
I'm wondering if Amuro will make a move on Agasa too, since he thinks he's involved in the fake death trick. At least if Amuro looks for conan he would go to Agasa's house.

Sure we can easily get a case in the middle of this all. It really has nothing to do with suspense or tension to see Amuro and "Subaru" talk about the good old days for 4 more chapters while Jodie and others are having James Bond moments. If we finally get an actual case with Yusaku, 896-898, 899 could be something with cliffhanger and 900 finally something goes down/ends what happened in 899.

The current chapter seemed to have mostly worked as an infodump after all.

Obviously a Detective Chiba love story would be appropriate, or a DB case. ;D
