Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files 894-898: Scarlet Series!

Things I'm currently mulling over:
- Elena was good to Amuro in the past
- Yet he was so intent on killing Shiho

Amuro had no intent on killing Shiho, on the train he intend to have Shiho taken to safety by the secret police(he mentioned "my partner", so he could be referring to his secret police associates instead of BO associates). Conan also mentioned how he made no move to kill Shiho on the train(File 893_page4).

The one who planted the bombs and intended to kill Shiho is Vermouth.

Right, there was no intent on killing, but he didn't really care when she was in immediate danger... Ah, I suppose there's a huge difference.

He never intended to kill Shiho. In the MT, his plan was to have her “kidnapped” (probably put into protection…?) by his police guys. Although I have no idea how he’d have explained that to the BO if he did succeed in that…

I think he was planning to fake her death by detonating the bomb in the last train car. Though i'm not sure what kind of measures he would take if it really was vermouth that came to him instead of Akai.

The only thing that bugs me a little that I can recall is the fact that when Shiho seemed to die, Amuro didn’t really care at all. Either he knew she could save herself or… I don’t know.

Im not sure how u see that he didn't care. From my perspective he looked shocked as f*ck! not to mention meeting someone who resembled Akai!!!

The fact that Conan mulls over Yukiko being good at making a Haibara disguise is definitely relevant, Yukiko probably knew Haibara when she was a child.

Yeah, That's definetly releveant, as i mentioned. I was also thinking she might have met Shiho before....like when yukiko was in the US acting and shiho was studying and they could've met, maybe shiho was with sharon once.

Guys, we know that Gosho shows scenes or people's thoughts for a reason. It really bugs me after 897 why Yukiko's disguise-skill, when doing the haibara disguise for conan, was really good. Conan clearly said that she is especially good when doing disguises of people she is close to!

Does it mean that yukiko has grown close to haibara(after meeting her once that time when she made the disguise) or is yukiko actually connected to Shiho from the start (before they met)?

Yeah that moment disturbed me too,conan wouln't have mentionned that if it wasn't important.I really wonder if Yukiko met Elena before(like Agasa did),or what if they were sister???
That would be a twist.


Concerning Amuro during the MT case,he seems very pissed,angry when he saw the explosion,so I guess he did care about Shiho being dead.But at the same time he suspected Akai being the one who threw the grenade,so he may suspect that Sherry's death was weird.If Akai managed to fake his death Amuro probably thought he helped Sherry to do so.
I'm glad i was actually right on Amuro having a plan to save Sherry in the first place(of course I didn't predict he would be a real good guy,I'm still shocked about that )

I can't wait for the next file,I really hope the Elena/Amuro thing will be explained(I kinda expect an Ai/Amuro talk about that).And also who is "him", one of Amuro's friend was killed by Akai?So many questions that still unsolved..

Btw, did anyone not realize the funny scene in page 12 of 897(if you havent seen it, go see it... its worth it :p) I think everyone was too focused at bourbon that noone pointed out at the background, a comically dissapointed Yuusaku(as Okiya) at Yuukiko(as Yuusaku), for being too 'cute' at Macademys :p

So back then when Akai was in the BO, he suspected Bourbon of being a spy from the SP and Bourbon susepcted Akai of being a spy from the FBI... xD

But then, if Bourbon's true allegiance is SP and not BO then he might not have been that old man who lead to Camel's miss which lead to Akai being a spy from the FBI, since even if Bourbon susepcted Akai it's possible he didn't really care since they were both "good guys" and that he mustn't have held a grudge against him since Date wasn't dead yet(Date died 1 year ago and Akai quit the BO 2 years ago). But if he did that only to get more trusted(by the BO)and such, it's another story.

Anyway, it must have been him since he was suspecting Akai, so there's a high probability Bourbon suggested the "old man test" or maybe he was the old man himself.

And also who is "him", one of Amuro's friend was killed by Akai?So many questions that still unsolved..

Amuro has dressed fairly British (in a Victorian gentleman sort of way) on a few occasions, so a British connection of some sort doesn't seem out of the question (especially with the points being brought up about Sera recently and the presence of the very-likely-British mystery girl from before).

that girl probably had one british parent and one related to Sera(since it was pointed that she looks alot like Sera)

how about this for a twist ---that women at the back(forgot her name) or more probable a customer is vermouth in disguise???

That will actually be decent you know, it can link the story well... (to BO targeting amuro, or such)
that is Azusa, I doubt vermouth would come to Poirot to spy on Amuro. But even if she did, Amuro being a spy fits better with her purpose of protecting Shinichi/Conan and Ran from the BO

as for Yukiko and Elena, they clearly aren't sisters since Elena is british and Yukiko is japanese.

I was rereading the case files and realised something. We thought that Conan called Amuro a liar because he lied about being in the secret police when he said that Conan misunderstood. But actually...

Conan's deduction (from 893): Many other factors + he reacted to 'zero', which is a nickname for the secret police. Therefore he should be from the secret police.

Akai's deduction in 897 (the correct one): Amuro reacted to 'zero' because it was a nickname for his real name, Rei.

If Amuro followed Conan's thought process, wasn't he actually right in saying that Conan misunderstood?

Yeah, Bourbon didn't really "lie" to Conan when he said that he misunderstood something about him since he said "Zero... I was really called like that as a kid". Rei means Zero after all so it's not like he lied to him. Even if I think Bourbon also meant that Conan misunderstood the fact he was "an enemy of the bad guys" = a guy of the SP, just to make him stress.

Im thinking Akai was chasing someone from the org and Ran over Date, thus killing him, it would explain why Bourbon hates him.

it was already explained that the driver was caught, payed(not literally) for his sloppy drivng/(dont remember but i think he was drunk or something). It couldn't have been Date!! it must a brother/father person/figure of his...or a fellow collegue/partner of his who works with him.

Ahh sorry Missed that ^. It might be he Akai accidentaly blew one of Bourbon's colleagues identity or caught one of his colleagues to get into the BO.
