Re: Bourbon's Identity: Who is Bourbon!?
I pointed this out multiple times and it's Sera. Of course, if it is Koumei, I will consider that the greatest thing to happen in anime but I doubted it even before the perfect character to be Scar Akai appeared a while ago.Conan324 wrote: most say that scar akai is bourbon, but the question is, who is scar akai? is it the one eyes detective? or his white rival????

If Sera was scar Akai, who has already stalked Andre Camel out once before in the Beika Department store, why would Sera react to finding out that he was FBI in the restaurant later?kkslider5552000 wrote:I pointed this out multiple times and it's Sera.Conan324 wrote: most say that scar akai is bourbon, but the question is, who is scar akai? is it the one eyes detective? or his white rival????

Seriously, Sera needs to not be Akai's sister. It would likely not only hurt Akai's appeal as sort of a badass loner but in general what is the point of Akai having a sister anyway? The most logical and obvious (in a good way) ending of this arc is Okiya saves Haibara from Scar Akai, we learn everything about Bourbon and both mystery characters are revealed, Haibara finds out exactly who Akai is, maybe some more info on the BO or even CIA and we go from there. Not to mention, we don't need Gosho ripping off both of his previous biggest arcs at once.

oh btw looking through Wikipedia articles for Rye and Bourbon might be relevent to the Scar Akai theory. Mainly since they talked about how Bourbon Whiskey has replaced Rye Whiskey. So in other words, Bourbon has replaced Rye. Hmm.....

Re: Bourbon's Identity: Who is Bourbon!?
I'm not sure this makes sense. Sure Gosho likes to mislead with conversations, but it all makes sense in hindsight on reread. If Sera was scar Akai, what reason would she have to react like that when scar Akai deliberately went after Camel in the men's restroom?kkslider5552000 wrote:to trick the audienceChekhov MacGuffin wrote:If Sera was scar Akai, who has already stalked Andre Camel out once before in the Beika Department store, why would Sera react to finding out that he was FBI in the restaurant later?kkslider5552000 wrote:I pointed this out multiple times and it's Sera.Conan324 wrote: most say that scar akai is bourbon, but the question is, who is scar akai? is it the one eyes detective? or his white rival????
Akai's appeal as a badass loner died when we found out he was still mushy over the goody-two-shoes Akemi, watered flowers everyday, or uses an apron to make food for Agasa - take your pick. Or you could still think of him as a bad ass loner anyway, but with a cute domestic side.kkslider5552000 wrote: Seriously, Sera needs to not be Akai's sister. Right, but when you are following someone, you would consider looking through the cracks of the stall to make sure the partner- of-the-person-you-are-trying-to-stalk-who-will-recognize-and-react-to-you finishes washing their hands and leaves before exiting from your stall. Or, if you didn't know he was there, retreat back into your stall before he notices you (he looks introspective and not like he is paying attention) and wait for him to leave. Heck, I would suggest using one on another floor because Jodie and Camel still have unfinished drinks in a must-not-leave-premises glass and are sitting down, so the chances are the FBI are going to be parked for at least a few minutes are high.Dus wrote: You know, people have to use the loo sometimes.

Re: Bourbon's Identity: Who is Bourbon!?
Obviously, why? Scar Akai wants to be seen. If Bourbon does not know who Camel is, there is no reason to hesitate. If Bourbon does know that he's here with Jodie, then there is no reason either. And even if Bourbon sees them together it doesn't automatically know they're both FBI.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote: Right, but when you are following someone, you would consider looking through the cracks of the stall to make sure the partner- of-the-person-you-are-trying-to-stalk-who-will-recognize-and-react-to-you finishes washing their hands and leaves before exiting from your stall. Re: Bourbon's Identity: Who is Bourbon!?
If Scar Akai was following them earlier, he might have noticed Jodie introducing Camel as "Agent Camel" to Ran and Kogoro. Also, considering the two of them together, it's a pretty easy deduction to make, especially if Jodie is dragging Camel around to interrogate salespeople about a hat scar Akai knows to be his. (Which implies Jodie is looking for info on Akai, and Camel is party to this.) Also Scar Akai may have very well seen Jodie, Camel, and James Black together pre-Teito bank heist while picking the right moment to appear in front of Jodie. If Sera is Scar Akai, she would have at least strongly suspected it by the time Conan introduced Camel in the Denny's case. Her reaction isn't like that though: it's a just found out reaction. "Oh? FBI, huh..."Dus wrote: Obviously, why? Scar Akai wants to be seen. If Bourbon does not know who Camel is, there is no reason to hesitate. There are not enough clues to disprove Sera is Scar Akai yet, but so far the little evidence we have, her reaction to Camel, suggests she isn't him. Time will reveal more clues for or against.

Re: Bourbon's Identity: Who is Bourbon!?
So what you're saying is, Sera is just a character quickly copy and pasted into a scenerio so that Gosho could write a new character instead of writing compelling stories using what he already has. Ok.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:Le fixed.kkslider5552000 wrote: The most logical ending of this arc is Okiya saves Sera from Scar Akai, Haibara finds out exactly who Akai is, and we go from there.
To put it simply, either new mystery character that is seemingly a villian is finally actually a villian, a plot twist most people won't see coming happens. We actually get to know Bourbon as more than just "pretending to be Akai" character (as we are showing the nicer side of badass loner real Akai, it would be kinda fitting), and a member of the BO is a high school detective, which by itself is very interesting.
Or Sera is reduced to unnecessary DiD and Bourbon is no one we've ever met because no reason.

Re: Bourbon's Identity: Who is Bourbon!?
Extreme negativity aside, I think that's mostly right, except I think we've met Bourbon once before when Camel tried to shoo him away before Akai's meeting with Gin. I'll send you tissues when the arc is over, if you like. I have some for Soratothemax already.kkslider5552000 wrote: So what you're saying is, Sera is just a character quickly copy and pasted into a scenerio so that Gosho could write a new character instead of writing compelling stories using what he already has. Too bad he didn't because it would have been slightly badass of scar Akai to nonchalantly wash up and leave while Camel just stares at him.Abs. wrote: Oh snap I just realized Scar Akai never washed his/her hands![]()
