Okiya and Yukiko's plan was to take ai out of harm's way and make yukiko disguise as shiho and fake death.

so it directly proves that Okiya knows that ai=shiho

This was also proven when Okiya tried to get Haibara to go with him earlier in the case and mentioned her sister.


And, in regards to that...

How many options are there for Akai?
Who else could be?
Any ideas?

Seeing as Okiya knew about Haibara's sister, it's pretty impossible he's anyone but Akai, especially given the fact he smiled when Sera said "Shuu-nii"... so that kinda wipes out the option that other people are Akai too.

It just occurred to me, but could it be Yukiko that was inn the kudo residence with okiya?
She could have been the okiya with the toothbrush, couldn't she?

I was thinking the same thing. In File 812, when we saw Okiya with the toothbrush, his collar was unzipped, he didn't speak, and then after everyone left, we saw him whip out a comb. When he reappeared in File 813, he spoke and had his collar zipped again. That tells me there's another disguiser involved.

Don't know if anyone's brought this up yet, but it strikes me as odd that Amuro mentioned Hell Angel. He's only supposed to be 29, right? How would he know Shiho's mother? Is it possible he's also age-regressed?

Not really. When Shiho was born, Amuro would have had around 11 years old. The "accident" that ended the Miyano's life apparently happened while Shiho was young, but they don't specify how young. It's not unlikely that Amuro could have met the Miyanos at the time.

Not to mention that maybe Amuro didn't even meet any of the Miyanos in person, but knows of Hell Angel through background checks.

True, but Amuro would've been a teenager, at best. It just seems an odd comparison for him to make.

If he never met the Miyanos, doesn't it seem strange that he would choose to compare Shiho to her mother? If Okiya's really Shuichi, for instance, his comparing Shiho to Akemi makes sense because he was actually familiar with Akemi. It's not a statement someone makes impersonally. With a background check, he would more likely say Shiho looks like her picture.

Of course, Aoyama's writing may be inspiring me to read too much into it, LOL! I'm still curious about Amuro's connection to the Tokyo MPD, based on what Date Wataru said.
