When it's not correcting an already correct word... ::)
Spoiler:
Speaking of Shukichi, there's apparently rumor that, on the marriage registration form, Shukichi's father's last name is "Akai" and that "Haneda" is the surname of the adoptive parents:

http://sky969blue6261.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-231.html
http://nagarebosihosihosi.blog.fc2.com/ ... y-217.html

Thing is, the form is very difficult to see—I've tried to, but I can't seem to see the vital info (not that I'd know where "father's name" and "adoptive parents' names" were on a Japanese marriage registration form).

If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

I've tried looking at it and if you look very carefully at the very bottom near the lower edge of the phone one can see the "Akai" kanji (or something similar) there plus a name.

The first blog's author thinks it says "X武": the X means that the author isn't sure what the first Kanji is.

The second kanji can be read in many ways such as "mu", "bu", "take" are some of them. But until we get a clearer shot of the form or someone manages to zoom into it in a manner that can be properly read.

So, in conclusion: it's possible that it says such but with such small writing it's hard to properly make out the kanji there. We can't confirm it 100% yet.

I'm surprised Gosho would put in something like that.

We'll have to wait to see if it'll be shown again—if so, it probably won't be from as far, and, thus, we may not get to see the good parts.

Now that I think about it, I'm not surprised that Akai would show up on the form. It would advance the plot, and Gosho has been doing that consistently as far as the Akai family mysteries go, and especially Shuukichi.

I can't actually see it that well, but if it does happen to be correct it has to be both kanji - " 赤井 "

I've just bought a copy of the magazine online, hopefully when it arrives in a week we all can get a much better / close up scan.

that could very well be how this case will tie up to the main story,... by Conan, at the end of this case, reading shuukichi's surname on the paper and getting his first official suspicion of shuukichi's identity.

Not just suspicion—I don't think Shinichi/Conan would go, "Oh, his father's surname is 'Akai...' that's a strange coincidence..." if he saw something like that. Of course, we've never seen him think about Masumi's second brother.

I expected us to see this on, perhaps, the last panel of the last page of File 947 (assuming this won't be a four-file case), with Shinichi/Conan either seeing the form and seeing "Akai" on there, or thinking about it after seeing it in an earlier panel (without us seeing what he was looking at, in that earlier panel).

Spoiler:
Pic 1: Truth to be told, it'd seem that an ancestor of my Aoyama family...
Pic 2: ...was a relative of Nene (One of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's wives)...
Pic 3: ...and accidentally supported Nene...
Pic 4: Sorry, you Chacha fans (^^. (Yodo-dono, another of Toyotomi's wives)
I think that the manager guy in the current case compared Yumi to one of those 2 wives, I don't remember which. These hints seem to be more related to the current case than a future case.

1. He compared her to both, Chacha in the first chapter, then switched to Nene at the end

2. There is a break this coming wednesday so the hints for the next chapter will likely be next week, a few days before the new chapter comes out like usual.
