Again my point is that they can make mistakes. I'm totally fine if the mistakes are reasonable. However, too much mistakes in a short span of time is somewhat repetitive and seemed forced. The case of Haibara and Okiya were that they didn't have another options while in earlier episodes, Conan didn't have the aid of FBI, CIA and had to exploit any opportunities to keep track with them. The case of Rei, for example, is totally different. And a lot of such mistakes in a short period spoils my mood a bit.Kleene Onigiri wrote:Those mistakes make them human. Especially those mentioned mistakes usually involved "their weakness" aka people they care or love. Like Ran for Vermouth and Shinichi. Sera shouting Mama because she was worried. Haibara turning big in order to save the DBs (i mean, should she let them die?). And she panics and act on a whim when she panics because the BO is involved, which is a mistake, but totally normal because she's supposed to be a human being. Okiya sending a message to Jodie during the red shirt case could also have been a mistake, if the wrong person would have noticed. But he did anyway, because sometimes you need to take risks to save people you care about
Also in the earlier episodes Conan makes mistakes too. Like confronting Vodka in the locker room, he thought Vodka would be alone so he can take him on. But Gin appears and Conan was almost caught. Or the reason why he "found" Kir was because his tracker was stuck on her shoe, which almost led to Kogoro getting sniped.
But in those cases, the detectives have to react to their own mistakes and need to try to fix them. This lacks in the current "mistakes", because they don't think they have anything to fix. Like Sera doesn't find it that bad, that Conan knows Mary is her mother. Or Vermouth also doesn't feel threatened that Ran knows that she's that person that called her Angel and so on.
Also, if people fight or play against each other and they are on par, usually, the one that wins is the one that doesn't do as many mistakes or takes advantage of the opponents mistakes.

It's impossible to gauge what short period of time could be then because the bourbon arc lasted for 7 years... And it's natural for the series to progress with Conan gathering allies to take the BO down. Ofcourse he wasn't going to go with an umbrella and a shotgun and start threatening the boss.eros1607 wrote:Again my point is that they can make mistakes. The problem now is Conan is not making full use of his allies. He only communicates with Akai about Rum but even doesn't tell everything to Akai. I wonder why Conan don't rely on FBI to investigate the case of Haneda Kohji. That case happened in America and FBI will be useful.k11chi wrote: It's impossible to gauge what short period of time could be then because the bourbon arc lasted for 7 years... Because he is Conan, and his usual behaviour is not to share any info he has with anybody. He since always had problems with communication, and we must deal with it.eros1607 wrote:The problem now is Conan is not making full use of his allies. About mistakes, that's pretty subjective indeed. For example Vermouth calling Ran an Angel can be called a mistake, but perhaps she actually wanted to call her an Angel, and then pretend it was a slip out on her part. I'm not really bothered by the mistakes the characters do. Everybody make mistakes, including super brains. Like they said about the BO mastermind, they might ruin a plan by overthinking it. That's their weakness, and because of that they might do mistakes. Not to mention I don't think Conan and co. will even catch Anokata unless they will make a mistake. Therefore we should habit to them now.
My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

Ofcourse mr. Akai could always just be dead and it's just a misdirection that's being thrown around.

No, this case takes place ten years before present time in-universe. DC operates on a floating timeline, so the present time in the series is akin to present day in real life without ever being labeled with a year.Anonymous1412 wrote: Btw, this case takes place around 1984 right? And yet the first advanced touchscreen smartphone came out in 2007, "a year after" this case

Mh, I think a device akin to the Motorola Ming, which came out first in late 2005 or the Rokr E6 would have similiar functions and looks like the one Yusaku has.Anonymous1412 wrote:Serinox wrote:No, this case takes place ten years before present time in-universe.
