Ayumi + Haibara

Postby Stopwatch » August 3rd, 2011, 7:10 pm

So, I just saw the new MitsuAi topic and decided to make this one as I realised that I haven't seen a thread for this pairing. This thread is for Haibara/Ayumi romantically or as a friendship as I know other Haibara ships are much more popular and I really doubt this thread has a chance at surviving otherwise.

I'll copy IHKF for the starting subject: favourite Ai/Ayumi moments and why?

(And please don't post that screenshot from OVA11 here or anything else like that)

YAY! ^^ *Likes being copied xD* My favorite moment was probably the castle case when Ayumi questioned Haibara. It was sweet when Haibara told Ayumi to stay and poor little Ayumi went in after her friend, even after being told to run away

Mine is the end of the "Mitsuhiko gone missing" case.

Looking out of the classroom window, just talking to each other... and looking really happy.

And yes, I like this pairing. Both as romantically as as friendship. :P

Favorite Ayumi and Haibara moment was in OVA 11. :P And I do like their pairing as a friendship. My favorite episode has to be when Ayumi was worried about what she is allowed to call 'Haibara'. And then Haibara kind of 'opened' up to her and told her to call her Ai-chan? (I honestly can't remember what Haibara told Ayumi to call her...) I also like all the moments where Haibara makes comments to herself and Ayumi ask her about them.

And I think Haibara's maturity and straight-forward attitude is a perfect match with Ayumi's young innocence and sort of naive personality. :)

Hm, my favorite AixAyumi moments was, like above, the friendship case where Ayumi wanted/started to call Haibara, Ai-chan and the case after 345 where Ayumi didn't want to run away from the case otherwise she'd lose.

Well, unfortunately there are as many proves for a romantic interaction between Ayumi and Ai as there are between Conan and Ai: None. (At least non which can be taken seriously.)
Which leaves this as a pairing in an awkward position - meaning that all support for the pairing comes from fanworks.

What remains are the friendship moments between Ayumi and Haibara which are... well, probably less exciting. Just like the Ran and Sonoko friendship, it is cute and everything but not that interesting to spend too much time on it.

What Schillok said, though I'll add some more onto why Ai + Ayumi can be an interesting pair. The thing is that this is Haibara, her having friends is ... unlikely and strange. The fact that Ayumi helps her open enough to even have 'friendship moments' is because of Ayumi's innocence and naivity and the fact that she won't give up in trying to make Haibara feel wanted. That alone makes for a good friendship and in the future a basis for something deeper ... Or something like that ... ;)

Yes, because if there's one thread that's really small, it's the AiCon thread.

Well the interaction between him and Haibara can be PERCEIVED as romantic (although it ISN'T.)

The FANS are really the ones who created the spark that isn't there.
Similar to KaitoxShinichi fans! ^^
