BUT WHO CARES? OKIYA SUBARU'S POINTLESS CAMEOS EPISODE 16! AND HAIBARA IS ACTUALLY TRYING TO CONFRONT HIM...curry? ...weird but ok...wait

NO. NO! GO BACK TO OKIYA, WE DON'T NEED LAME JOKES AT THE END. We haven't seen him outside of a non-canon OVA in a year! At least have him stalking Haibara in the background or something.

And the next episode...oh dear. I've been dreading this ever since I heard about it. This is gonna hurt.

Nah, seriously, he'd need a lot of motivation to go randomly stalking her, like . . . I don't know . . . er . . . if Haibara got a boyfriend and he needed to 'check up on him'. Or . . . if there was some plot development! So, it's pretty unlikely.

Quite a nice adaptation from an average DB case with good animation overall. It was nice having the 3 kids on their own, but it eventually got a bit tiresome. I liked the music they used, it gave some good intensity to the encounter between Haibara and Okiya. The culprits were really stupid though and the end was a bit meh, to say the least.

Well, I'm not complaining about at least some Okiya (intentionally or not, probably the best example of Gosho being really good at making you interested in the story despite just how little actually happens) but I fear we won't see him again until this arc's Clash. (don't post spoilers telling me otherwise!)

Also, the soundtrack is being used so much better than it was 2 years ago. Even the newer stuff is used well and mostly decent. But...if it was all like this, it would be incredible.

Haibara still eat Okiya's cooking despite she strongly dislike Okiya.

What if someday Ran praise Okiya's cooking or vise versa like Ariade-sensei praised Ran's cooking in OVA 9. Hope someday Ran invited Okiya to eat her cooking.

Oh Okiya, how you are such a joke of a character. I would love to read a fanfic about a day in his life where he pretty much does nothing. Does the bum even have a job? I don't think you get paid for glaring...

I liked this case, a really good way to move from the London case (which I kinda found disappointing). The ultimate reveal was actually a surprise when you see Okiya and you quickly realize who was kidnapped, and it wraps the story up.

However I'm so sick of this Haibara-Okiya thing where she gets her sixth sense and nothing ends up happening. It's as old as Okiya's stale character and this scene really shows why this plot thread needs to be addressed instead of poorly teased.

I face palmed at the next episode, but hey, Chiba is awesome so more time with him couldn't be bad... right?

The second I heard the culprits mention middle school daughter answering the phone, my thoughts went straight to how it'd end up being Agasa kidnapped and Haibara the middle school daughter.

Case was alright though I suppose... Dear lord at the Chiba love case, someone shoot me now.

I always want to laugh when I see Okiya on the screen after read okiya=akai thread.
How come a smart, strong and cool man become very useless, does nothing except looking suspicious and smiling suspiciously like a lollicon when he meet the DB?
But now, Okiya become superman. The previous one was Conan (by Haibara in Reunion with BO). Maybe it's a sign of something.
About Chiba, well, love story that based on childhood relationship is tiring. If there's another love story again, I hope it's not based on childhood relationship anymore.
