In the inestimable psychology books by Allan and Barbra Pease, there are certain tests that can help determine the makeup of your brain. In "Why Men Don't Listen and Women Can't Read Maps", there's a test which displays whether your brain makeup is predominantly masculine or feminine or a mix. This has nothing to do with physical gender; gay men tend to have mostly feminised brains and lesbians mostly masculinised, for example, and if your body is male but your brain is completely female in makeup, or vice-versa, that's transgenderism.
Anyway, a discussion in the Shinichi + Ran thread lead me to answer the questions as certain characters, to figure out what their brain makeup is. I've done Shinichi and Ran so far:
Shinichi:-40. High-masculine, high testosterone levels. Quoting from the book: "These people demonstrate strong logical, analytical and verbal skills and tend to be disciplined and well-organised. The lower they score, the better they are at projecting costs and planning outcomes for statistical data, with their emotions hardly influencing them at all. Scores in the minus range are high masculine scores. These scores show that large amounts of testosterone were present in the early stages of the foetal development."
Ran:270. Feminine but not high-feminine; mostly feminised brain but some masculine traits. Mostly oestrogen present in the early stages of foetal development, but some testosterone was involved at some stage.
I'll get around to the others, although anyone else is welcome to contribute; here's a website with the test: http://www.diku.dk/hjemmesider/studeren ... iringTest/
If anyone's interested, my score is 320. Oestrogen out the wazoo.
