Speaking of things I've noticed for a while, nice touch with the part before the chorus in the OP showing a montage of all of the Shinichi flashback events in chronological order before showing the famous Black Knight scene.

And Apollo honestly sounds like those sunflowers from Super Mario Sunshine. I notice some random things.

Hahahahaha the music with Ran's angry face after Shinichi hanged up. That made me laugh. Actually not just that. The entire chase and the sound effect when Shinichi turned to look at Ran. All great and funny and fun. This is so much better than self-parody Ran we've been seeing so much lately.

Seriously though, genuine drama? In my relationship plot? And no magic love interest sensing powers? Dammit I know they'll ruin this by the end but I'm really interested in this right now. Didn't add too much to the case (I think) but that's ok for now.

5. Why did he even run in the first place? Despite what he said about "Ran finding out." He has gotten himself out of far worse, and they were never in any danger until they started running around like idiots.

What would have happened if Ran ran into Conan and the professor around Big Ben anyway? Okay, they said they were somewhere else during the phone call, but they could have gotten to where they were by the time Ran found them, she didn't have a gps knowing of where he was anyway, just "somewhere within earshot of the bells" and that doesn't narrow it down at all.

There were soooooo many excuses that didn't require running around and locking yourself in a phone box (which should have been colored blue >______>;)

Here are two I can think up on the top of my head.

Ran runs into them.
Conan: We were with Shinichi, he just ran off, but he said it was a secret why he was here.

Buy her a gift or spend the plane ride back with her, she'd have been content with that.

My major problem is the fact that the transformation took place in a few seconds where as it was shown in previous episodes that it is supposed to be painful and rather long. It was already bad enough in the manga but the anime made it worse.

Actually, it was transforming back to Conan that was shown as being painful. Changing to Shin'ichi was only ever shown as being painful back with the baigar liquor in episodes 48/49.

For spelling mistake of Cerebrate instead of Celebrate, it's changed into Celebrate in Ep 617. I heard there is a fan from aptx website sent email to DC anime director for an opinion regarding this spelling mistake, and it's really changed to "Celebrate".

Can you spot the difference?

It will be funny if Sonoko is here in London, when Ran calling Conan on phone, Sonoko can joke to Conan that there is a foreign hottie eying on Ran, then will Conan still concentrate on the code or hurry back to Ran.

When Conan using a child's voice to say "Hello" on Shinichi's phone, Ran didn't notice that Conan but not Shinichi's voice, otherwise Ran may feel strange why Conan using Shinich's phone. Or saying"Hello" on the phone usually can't tell who's calling.

Is it better if Conan yelled "IF THERE IS NOTHING IMPORTANT  THEN DON'T CALL!!!!" on Shinichi's phone before Ran said a word.

maybe the transformation isn't really painful but just portrayed painful in the anime..

we can't really tell the feeling in manga because it is stationary..

I think this is also the first time we see smoke above shinichi's head after the transformation..

Conan should have said "I can hear the bell through your phone" and avoided suspicion. He shouldn't have panicked and ran. That was a stupid move.

I have to agree, the change was a bit quick.  Also, he carries Shinichi's clothes around with him everywhere?!?  Finally, those booths have see-through glass in the doors.  Anyone could have looked in and seen him changing (both bodies and clothes!!).  Oh well...


I thought "The Glore" was a bad takeoff on "The Globe" theatre in London, but it turns out there's actually the Glore Studio Theatre in London!

tl;dr version was: yeah there's some plot holes but this is still awesome and the best Ran's been in quite a few years and had a crying scene that actually worked, so these problems become far less annoying. Sure, it'd be better without them but nothing else has happened in this anime for nearly a year, I want to enjoy this while it's here.
