@mead: It's not given that the Kudos where traveling around. Shinichi was in NY because his parents are living there, so that was kinda a trip "to his home".
Shinichi also lives alone and is kinda proud not to ask for favours. So he probably never asked and they never went outside of japan/NY for a vacation.

Conan says "Dad has taken me to lots of places overseas, but we've never been to London."

Shinichi spent a summer in Hawaii for vacation! That line implies he's been to more than New York and Hawaii! So that is kind of my point. Why have they never been to London other than to make the story have more impact? I mean, it's fine as a reason I guess, it just seems like the story itself was forced @.@

Remember, he has that second pill, and if this is anything like previous arcs, it's not going to be used for the trip home...

This was my very first idea (turning Conan into Shinichi to get on the plane) as soon as the problem was revealed (i.e. before Ai suggested it), but I immediately discarded it - no way Conan would be able to resist to take it too early
Actually, on second thought - it's quite likely Ai has anticipated that and given the professor an additional one

And yes, I agree - the background story until now seems HIGHLY fabricated, as if Gosho was like "Oh, I want to have a London arc. That's now problem; I'm the author - everyone's in London now!" or something like that.

BTW, am I the only one to notice the spelling mistake (?) - cerebrate instead of celebrate? That might be a major clue - it could be it actually does mean cerebrate (i.e. reflect; think hard) and Conan mistranslates it...

They probably just typed it into a word processor and saw that it wasn't caught by spell-check, thus thinking "Well, it must be right then!"

And I think, in some convoluted way, that the guy could have actually meant that he just remembered to ask a cake to use its brain and think beforehand. Yo cake! Use your noggin'!

Okay, based on just what she said, The pills no longer seem to last a shorter amount of time the more they are used, nope. They last 24 period. Did I miss something? I mean I can't find any article about on hand, so I'm going from memory. And how is that not essentially a cure? She makes no mention of danger, so using it must be realistically safe.

If all it does is give you cold symptoms and Haibara can say for sure that both times he uses it it will last 24 hours, Isn't this a major advancement?

From what I understood of what I saw in the episode, if he takes it too soon, it won't last as long. I think it has to leave his system entirely before he takes the second pill (i.e. at the end of the trip), or it won't last the full length.

the third rumble ball is the badass one, the second one is just russian roulette, which still could apply to conan, i think up till now he always only took 2 consecutive pills
cerebrate and the starcraft creature most likely derive from latin "cerebrum" which just means brain.. so nothing to wonder about this word (omg.. this seems to be quite the smartass comment...)
