The Heiji case was pretty OK, in my opinion. I still don't understand why Shinichi used an alias, but oh well. And why did Sato play along? (It's almost as if they're trying not to destroy the established canon. Too bad Heiji's appearance at all completely ruins it.)

I bet they were, but they've already ruined A LOT of canon, so I don't know what the point was either. But it was amusing... to me.

Anyway, I thought it was Jerry Yan from the F4 Taiwanese group at first instead of Mizobata Junpei there.  I didn't realise it was from Episodes 192-193 until Shinichi wanted to say something to Ran there

It's hard to say that it's actually Desperate Revival when some of the most memorable parts of those chapters/episodes would undoubtedly be taken out. Even for the case, since we already know the trick from the series, it won't be anything new.

As for summaries, try DCW? They've got well written summaries up there, better than I can do for you.
