Way too much explaining for the last part of the Demon Dog. Cool that Kogoro actually knew stuff but I swear it felt like it took twice as long for Kogoro to explain stuff than it did to do the entire reveal of the case. Cool that I guessed the culprit right (kinda) but it was done in a far less interesting way than expected. Heiji and Kazuha added nothing to this case as well. Also, I could have sworn I heard there was a bit of foreshadowing to a later case in this one but I must have heard wrong. A real shame as before this I was gonna call this the best case since the Red Wall or even Furinkazan but now...not so much. Still a really good case though and still far better than a number of other Heiji cases.
But I actually REALLY enjoyed this Detective Boys episode more. Unless this also has a notably dissappointing ending too, this really confirms what I've thought for a while that Gosho has remembered how to make good DB cases again. No police anywhere, just the Detective Boys in a somewhat creepy house with the culpirt. Some clues to figure out what's happening, a nice old school sort of case. And my complaints about the Demon Dog ending aside, if Gosho did more stuff of the quality of these cases, the recent lack of plot development would be far less annoying.
BTW: Agasa's car is pretty awful lately.
