I think that to understand the importance of a stagnant romantic aspect within a tumultuous plot climate you need to understand Monica and Chandler. This couple is incredibly boring because while the other characters, Ross Rachel Joey etc. all have many romantic encounters with others as well as one another, Monica and Chandler are always together. To some this may seem boring, to have a couple that makes only small alterations to it's dynamic and yet...imagine if the show had decided to have them get a divorce and see other people. And imagine if Monica had started seeing Joey? I don't care how much you longed for new development that would have pissed you off, why? because they were fine the way they were. Exciting? not exactly. That doesn't mean it warrants an overhaul. The truth is the whole balance of the show would have been thrown off without that sense of stability
For those of you who haven't seen Friends, these are the connections I was making
---->Chandler = Ran
----->Monica = Shinichi
------>Joey = Ai(for the sake of this analogy)
This is why I think no matter how much fan grief he gets, Gosho will never dramatically change the relationship between Ran and Shinichi. Advance it? Yeah of course they're 17 they still have a ways to go. But as far as introducing new characters into the romance mix and love triangles and all that, I can't see it happening. And frankly I wouldn't want it to happen. A couple like them doesn't need that kind of turbulence, they already have the issue of Shinichi not really being there to deal with.

I can understand him not telling Ran, but come on his dad has connections with the FBI and Interpol. It's about time he put his ego away and accepted some much needed assistance from the ol' red white and blue

We know both the FBI and CIA are going after the BO and have been so for years (deep cover of Hondou, Moroboshi Dai cover). Due to Interpol's breadth would be safe to assume they have at least heard of the organization. Theres been talk of Britain, tangentially as it is, since the introduction of Sagaru Hakuba eons ago, so SIS/MI6 could be involved somewhere.
Point being, know that "The Bureau" and "The Company" know about "The Organization," safe to assume other intelligence or criminal agencies know too, even if it isn't public, and they still haven't been able to stop them. So Shinichi won't be safe just by telling them whats what.

The first valentine's day episode (I believe 6), was an AO, so it wouldn't count.psyko_stevey_999 wrote:Im basing that guess solely on the fact that the first valentines day took place in the first ten episodes, then the next took place in the late 200's, then the following white took place in the early 600's. This is just a loose guess that doesn't hold much water but it at least gives somewhat of an estimate
