Didn't know that. I prefer the previous hair colors just because I'm used to them, it will take some time for the new ones. :P
Anyway, they should have used these colors from the beginning. I'll never understand why there are so many differences in the anime (like the case in which Akemi Miyano was introduced), they can't be mistakes.

As animes go, Detective Conan is quite faithful to the manga. There are important differences between TV and manga as mediums, so you can't expect everything to be exactly the same. The Akemi Miyano thing is harped on endlessly, but it is probably done better in the anime if anything- it makes more sense to spread things out than not (though I'm aware that that's not really the cause of the difference).

The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

I love and miss the feeling the original episodes game me, and the jazzy sound track was amazing. Nowadays we hardly see much blood.

For example Ran looks uglier, Conan's face seems a little feminin, Takagi seems older and so on, at least to me it feels like this.
Actually I've never noticed the pitch black thing, I agree with the rest you said.

By the way, I noticed that Ai's hair has changed color. =/

I mean the drawing style of manga has evolved (sharper strokes etc for instance), so the anime too. Drawings are not the same, I mean anime is much closer to the current manga drawing style. I agree with you saying Ran looks uglier SOMETIMES. There are mistakes or bad drawings sometimes in the anime, but i say it's not that much and looks overall better than the earlier graphics.

I don't like to compare manga with anime. Manga is a whole different experience.

In manga I love to see how Ran's mouth and eyebrows were drawn when she yells like "Otooousan".
In anime I love to hear the real woman's voice that yells like "Otooousan".

I miss the Ai's earlier hair color.

Same.
I miss the classic feel the old eps used to have. You could feel the love that went into them! (Um, mean, as much love as a show about murder could get.)
I love the old soundtrack too, it really gave the show the right feel. And yes, I also miss having more blood.
I mean, someone just was stabbed/shot/hit by an elephant. Where is the blood? (No, not that 'brown' stuff that the bodies have coming out of them, blood is red. I want red.)

We've hardly seen any blood even in the first episode before. Blood in the anime was always censored with a birght light or darkness/shadow.

Today, murders are done in a less brutal way i may say.

Again, this is something that is likely common in many works of fiction made for kids where stuff becomes more censored and less consistently dark in some ways as they become more popular and keep going on for even 1/3 of the time Conan's been around.

I was gonna go on a long rant but basically:we need more development or interesting character things or ANYTHING since there's no way in hell Gosho can consistently make cases as good as he did in 1996, and the soundtrack and art problems wouldn't be all that noticible if he did.

The anime was only supposed to last something like 50-60 episodes at first, therefore the staff didn't bother remaining faithful to the storyline since they had not planned for the plot to be resolved animewise anyway.

I disagree that the new animation is worse.  I mean, I really like how sharp it is!  Also, I didn't think Shinichi was attractive at all at the start, (and don't get me started on Ran's unicorn horn thing) but now they both look way better.

I don't like the new random sharp angles and simple shading at all : S.  It's like really rushed anime vector art.  You can tell they didn't even try to smooth out the lines, it's just quick small straight lines with only one thickness.  They don't bother incorporating the background colour into the character either D:.

Difference in the Detective Boys:  Old frame was a random frame from a random episode while new one is from the OP "raindrops".  Even though the old frame was just a throw away frame it looks better in my opinion ._.   WTF is with new Genta xD.

Let's hope the soundtrack for movie 15 is awesome (the movie 14 one sucked as much as the movie, that blimp music, ugh + too many short pieces of 30 sec-1 minute), since they usually use a few tracks of those in the anime afterwards. In fact that's why the series' soundtrack changes a bit quite regularly.
