Well obviously there is more then three, it was basically the point of his postBaritsu Master wrote:Don't forget Goju! Spent five years in Kenpo before getting my dan in Jiujitsu. Studied Kyokushin later for a year or two.
Saw a program listing what one channel (Spike?) considered the most lethal arts. Karate was high on the list.
Aikido wasn't mentioned, but then it's point was not to inflict the most pain.

It's really more intent of the training.Baritsu Master wrote:A most lethal list IS silly. It's the fighter, not the art. For the most part, at least.

They are probably referring to the ability and not the competence.Baritsu Master wrote:He certainly isn't the 'ace' many websites claim he is.

... as for Judo... while reading the manga i only got that kogoro is an ace as long as he is not competing in a tournament cos he has stage fright and always lost within the first few rounds (stated in the reunion chapters) and just taught his wife what he knows ... first appearance of Eri proves this as conan says he saw that throw Eri did somewhere beforeAbs. wrote:Ran's bones are made of adamantium. Again, knowing 1 or two throws doesn't mean you're a Judo champ and Karate does have throws in certain teachings. Also if Ran was proficient in throws or grappling she'd use it.Baritsu Master wrote: It was in episode 33 that Ran's mother first appeared. She threw the killer with a judo throw, and Conan says to himself that he had seen Ran use the same move. Also, in the first epi, Ran slugs Shinichi with a judo gi. You can tell because it is quilted. Karate gi's are woven or plain canvas.
