What cases had the most surprising murder victim?

Whether or not you can figure out the culprit before it's revealed varies from reader to reader, in most DC cases it's obvious who's the murder victim is going to be before they discover the body.

However, has there ever been a case where you weren't sure who was going to be the one to die?

For the mermaid case, I was certain the girl who sent the letter who was missing was going to be the first victim, but she ended up being the 3rd victim discovered.

Shoot, I dunno, Most times it's either obviously shown in the previews or you just gotta find the biggest ass in the room.

I'll agree, The Mermaid case had some twist deaths, Moonlight Sonta's was surprising, in a way Narumi Asai was also a victim of murder, just not hershis, so it might count.
