Akako doesn't seem right for Hakuba.

Hakuba needs a serious person to hold him down; to battle his obsession with KID by logic and facts- while maintaining coolness and keeping a handle on their anger.

Haibara seems to fit the bill.

And seriously- Akako and Hakuba do NOT go well together. *Shudder*

Well I will never think that Hakuba and Akako are made for each other (in fact I think it is a bit difficult for people like Hakuba or Akako or Ai or Akai to find someone to get along well with). I only think that the chance that Aoyama pair them in the future is much more higher than Hakuba x Ai. Just as I said, I never get the impression that Aoyama can let Hakuba be more than a guest in DC. He belongs to the Magic Kaito world.

And beside, I really suck at analyzing characters’ personality and relationship so please don’t talk logically to me about this issue. I can never tell two random people whether they are compatible or not, I just think about the chance the author pair them together in the end. For example I don’t see what Eri and Kogoro have in common but I’m still certain that Eri will come back to Kogoro at the end (of course if they both survive).

Yeah, even I support Shin x Ran (and they are already like the Golden Couple in DC), I am still not 100% sure that they will get together in the end. Shiho x Shinichi still has a chance, no matter how slim it is. This couple’s fan can still have hope, and I truly respect it.

OK, this topic is about how compatible Hakuba and Ai are, not about the chance Aoyama will pair them in the end, so maybe I should stop posting off - topic stuff from now on.

oh my, I never thought about this couple .. For me it was Ai+Mitsuhiko, Ai+Akai, Ai dead or Ai alone D: Now that I think about it .. I don't know. With their personalities I think it would work (but I won't say anything else, since I only know him from that few Conan episodes); age difference is not a big deal, he's not like 80 (well, if SHE is, than that is kind of .. bleh) + there's also the age difference between Mitsuhiko and her, and this one is a bit more disturbing for me; not sure how the similar haircut is relevant but why not I guess xD England is a better point but I agree with all of you who said 'please no more childhood friends!'
It might work but it'd be stupid if it was love on a first sight, it had to be sth deeper (maybe he knew her parents and when she finds that out, she wants to know more about them and then they spend a lot of time together and then they fall in love or whatever xD .. but Hakuba isn't primarly a DC character, so .. not sure how to end my thoughts ....)
even though I don't really like Ai, I'd hate to see her alone in the end >.< and as a Shin+Ran fan, I'd hate even more if she was with Shinichi, however, I'm pretty sure there will be a romantic scene between them (at least Ai+Conan) at some point D:

My thoughts exactly. But it wouldn't be too big of the part of the ending--I'm pretty sure the ending is something either Shinichi/Ran or something bro between Shinichi and Heiji. (I'm hoping for something bro between all four of the so-called Gosho Boys, but that's asking for too much.)

That'd be wonderful, but means Hakuba will also be in the ending. And so far, all of Baa-chan's (sorry, got used to it) appearances, canon or non-canon, have contained Kid in some way. Which means Kid will be in the ending. Which will be epic.

Oh what I really meant is "Ai and Hakuba meet each other for the first time" and no more "scene of Ai and Hakuba together". It doesn't need to be "Ai and Hakuba meet each other for the first time" and the whole DC ends there (I would hate it if Aoyama ended DC like that).

Well I said it already! I also don't think Hakuba is fit with Akako (and I don't think Hakuba is fit with Ai too, but let's not discuss it now). I only think the chance Aoyama pairs Hakuba anad Akako is much higher than Hakuba and Ai. I tend to support canon pairings rather than non canon ones (with very few exceptions) so that’s why I support Hakuba x Akako, but I can still support Hakuba x Ai, too.

And maybe you like to see how Hakuba and Ai’s relationship develops, but I don’t really like too much romance in a detective manga (it is annoying to me). I still want the author to let Hakuba and Ai meet only. If Aoyama wants them to get married and have children, I’m OK with it if he shows it in the “Nineteen years laterâ€
